Heddon tiny torpedo in silver/blue or clear in the slackwater will catch fish. Doesn't help with the grass issue though.

I don’t saltwater fish anymore, but I use a strike king sexy dawg or bitsy dawg for bass. They should work well for saltwater fish too. In the past, I would throw a vudu shrimp, without a cork, and reel it pretty fast to keep it higher in the water column. That might work for you too.

When the first cold fronts come through the founder get thick on tbe beach. I know that's not what you asked about. But it can be epic in the fall. The season closes Oct 15th through Nov 30th. Because they're afraid people would actually catch flounder then.... they dont mind the 32 million baby flounder killed in shrimp nets every year. That can't be helped. But a baw catching 5 from the beach in late Oct must be stopped at all costs.

MirrOLure Top Dog 94MR 808 Color (black back, gold scale body and orange belly). Looks an awful lot like a croaker, I have caught truckloads of redfish off the beach in the panhandle on that bait..also catches trout and unfortunately or fortunately depending on you POV poor mans Tarpon, sharks and jacks. It is the bait of choice on the jetties in Destin and St. Andres Pass. Also a McDonalds straw and a clear bubble (straw lure). Almost always some spanish early and ladyfish ain't the worst thing in the world to catch....

94MR, 808 pattern. May not be able to buy one for $100 anywhere on the panhandle or Alabama gulf coast.....I have about 50 of them new in the box in the shop ready to go at a moment's notice.

I doubled up on whiting today on a pompano rig with the fish bites. I just wanted everyone to know that. There was nobody around to see it except one Vols fan who walked by and wrote "Go Vols" in the sand behind me after seeing my UGA hat.

I have a much bigger hang up over casual "fans" than rabid fans.
