Fletcher’s renovation ideas to keep Pels here long term

This actually may or may not be what Gayle wants but here we go from his twitter account December 25th .
“We need to do the same thing now with a new entertainment district involving the Arena.”
4. Gut renovation on the Smoothie King Center.
***Pelicans would have to play entire season in Superdome, Birmingham (G-League Squadron home) and maybe some at Lakefront arena.
5. SKC Parking lot 3 and old NOLA Centre parking lot & Club XLIV turned into upscale boutique hotel connected to Champions square. Can also have bricks/mortar Saints (and Pelicans) hall of fame there
. 6 Land swap with U.S. Post Office main location, turning that entire footprint into a new, additional convention center space (operated by NOENMCC).
Only one person would want a boutique hotel next to the SKC.
What do you think?

You have a new hotel that will be built as part of the Convention Center, so not sure its feasible. They already are having a very hard time selling apartments at the new Mississippi River build-out so that's not very feasible either. You could do the Hall of fame for both pro teams, and also do one for the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame which is looking for a place, and all three attractions would fit nicely with the Pels.

Do they utilize rail for the Post Office ? If not, put it somewhere else. It's in the way and that space could be utilized in a better way
New Arena built on Post office and/or other parking area there, use SKC during construction and develop the area where SKC was to something that would fit there.

Fletchers an idiot thinking the US Postal is going to give up shite lol. They wouldn't even give up the parking lot across the street from the arena. That's a hard pass on this plan

New Orleans had entire cars found in drainage pipes and had an entire hotel collapse during construction.
LOL at having any kind of “master planned” anything

Ever heard of eminent domain. The city can get it one way or another.

Eminent domain of federal land?

Is it truly federal? It's run more as a private company independent of the US government.
Is the land owned by the USPS or do they have a longterm lease?

If it is Federal land Trump would probably sell it to her like he did for Commanders new stadium. I’m sure Scalise could help her out.

I just looked around a little bit online and those types of land swaps are more common than I thought they would be. That piece of land is also a lot bigger than I realized from looking at it on a map.

Landry is in Trump's ear, the Speaker is from Louisiana, I'm sure the USPS can be convinced given all the other microscopes the Administration is about to have them under.

Postal is ran by someone appointed by Biden so that's not happening

We could have a 5bn dollar stadium thats empty if it put out this current team.

Pelican’s Hall of Fame?
That shouldn’t take up much space.

More thoughts as I watch us getting our butts beat again.
Wasn’t Champions Square supposed to be an Entertainment District? They have a few concerts, and pregame parties. Otherwise that idea has flopped miserably now they want to try another one?
Parking ? They just going to take up the parking with this concept? They really expect us to walk blocks and blocks to watch a pitiful basketball team? I know take an Uber? Last time I took an uber I was forced by police to walk all the way to Poydras Street to pick up my uber after game.
Give us a better product on the court!

People leasing buildings to the postal service is big business, no one goes into that office anymore

Turning XLIV and the old NO Center space into a boutique has been on the table for a LONG time. When Gayle bought into Hyatt in 2019 this was a real hot topic but obviously has gone by the wayside.
