If he's got hurt multiple times while doing this, why TF won't the team actually play him in a regular minute rotation?

It's some of the dumbest shite I've ever seen from an organization.

I could see if every time he's played a consistent 34+ he's got hurt, BUT HES NEVER PLAYED A CONSISTENT 34+ MINUTES. EVER.

It's the definition of insanity.

What if having him in and out if games and constantly working his muscles then stopping working them for 10-15 minutes real time is what's causing the injuries?.

Of course you are more likely to be hurt while actually playing, but the majority of his injuries did not occur on the court. It's a possibility that the stop and go shite could be the cause of his injuries, especially since damn near all of them have been soft tissue injuries.

If it has never worked before, me rf kept him healthy before, but you jerk doing it, what TF makes this team think that it's good to keep doing the same thing?

I don't understand how they have never tried anything different. It's legitimately retarded to continue to do this when it has never worked before.

Anybody else think y'all should try something different for once?

It's fricking stupid to think that if this fat arse plays 32 mpg, he likely will get hurt, but playing 28 mpg is going to help him not get hurt as often. He played 30 games last year averaging 28 mpg, and was hurt for 52 games.

How about you lose some more weight. And don't tell me he's big boned/framed. Lebron is a big arse dude and probably 4" taller than Zion and has always weighed under 250. There's no reason for Zion to still weight 275ish. He should be under 250.
Look how big Saddiq looks at 6'8", and he probably weighs 225 (they have him listed at 215 but that's what he weighed in college and he's obviously bigger than he was then).
Zion is 6'5" at best. There's just no reason for him to be over 250 lbs. If he wants to stay fat then he needs to go play football, b/c i'm sure he could go be a DE and destroy people at his size. But if you want to keep playing basketball, then get your fat arse in basketball shape.

The main argument to play Zion under 30 minutes these days is that it is not his team anymore. Queen and Fears are the future and tbh Queen is inconsistent with Zion in the lineup and Fears has dropped off significantly. Zion is also 1-10 as a starter this year
I think you can make the argument that playing Zion 29 mins is actually too much and not too little.

You cannot make that argument. Since coming back hes been good ole stupid efficient Z again.

Hopefully this is the reason and the team ain't that damn stupid.

There has never been a high level player who plays 6 minute max at a time. Idk if that's contributing to the injuries but the shite has not worked for 7 years and they are still doing it. Players muscles and ligaments ain't used to going in and out over and over again. If the shite didn't work ever before, I don't understand the point of never doing something different.

They have to have someone to blame. This team was rolling a bit when it was at full strength outside of Murray. Herb goes down and we start to free fall again. This team isn’t good enough to overcome injuries.

Zion being efficient at left handed layups again doesn't necessarily mean that it's winning basketball in 2025-2026. We actually play better and have more synergy when he does not play at all. You can see Queen and Fears struggling to figure out their roles as Zion is back and dominating the ball. Zion is just not a winning player if he's your best player. He'd be better suited to run a bench unit on a great team. He's been proven to be an anchor to winning if he's a top 2 guy on your team.

Yep.

He's efficient in the sense that he scores, but he isn't efficient for winning in that he takes the ball out of everyone else's hands when he's on the floor.

Zion is a bucket under the basket, but he can't do anything else on either side of the floor.

That's a problem.

Cmon man. Statistically any player with that true shooting % is considered an elite scorer. Hes scoring at an elite level since coming back. Its not debatable and reducing it to that is crazy work.

And we didnt win shite with all that "synergy"

Queen is still being given his regular sets and playing well. Fears is hitting a rookie wall.

We won 49 games the last time he played more than 65 games as our best player. Queen Fears Trey and Zion works but Zion cant stay healthy and skinny. thats always been the main issue.

I downvoted the OP, if you don’t understand Zion at this point, then I can’t help you. But he is destined to get hurt again. Minutes restrictions reduce that possibility, while allowing him to play and increase what little trade value he has. Maybe the Pels cans get a protected first if he keeps up this production, if not he will/should be cut. It’s that simple. He can put up stats but they are never going to be winning stats. Get whatever value you can and MOVE ON ASAP.

If that doesn’t say it all. Zion is jumbo Poole. He doesn’t play winning basketball because he can pretty much only do 2 things well.

Voiding his contract by a trade or otherwise is the top priority.

Is it really efficient at left handed layups if he falls down every time and bitches at the refs that he wasn't fouled while the other team is scoring on the other end?
