Ouch, they said that no one would watch the Pop Tart Bowl without the Irish.

Frosted Raspberry PopTart FTW

I really enjoyed the Sun Bowl this year. Great setting.

Notre Dame is becoming irrelevant. People who can’t see this are just in denial. They haven’t won anything since 1988 and their business model as an Independent is outdated which is why there are only a few Independents left.

They played in the national championship game 50 weeks ago.
Now if Freeman leaves, I agree they’re high risk.

I forgot they opted out of the bowl game this year.
No one actually gives a shite about that program.

I think Pop Tarts has the best marketing team but Frosted Flakes and Cheez It are good as well. Duke’s Mayo, too.

Didn’t the Notre Dame tards claim that this bowl and ESPN would lose $50m without them playing?

Haha, really? That is such a dumb claim.
Pop Tart, Sun, Holiday, and Cheez It have some of the best tie-ins, so if a team opts out, they’ll just a select a team from a slightly smaller bowl, that fits their connected conferences.
The Pop Tart bowl was always going to have two good teams.

The height of Graham Mertz Mania was his Duke's Mayo Bowl victory where he then broke the trophy and they taped a bottle of mayo in its place.

Note Dame is a relic of days gone by. No one cares anymore

Game was over at halftime and they were losing 31-7 in third quarter. Just like 2012 and just like almost every single BCS/4 team/12 team playoff they have been in. ND’s record in those games since 2000 is like 2-12 most of which were blowouts that were over at halftime. ND is still trying to run a 1977 business model in 2026. It doesn’t work or matter anymore. Every team is on tv now. Everyone can offer the same things (and more) than ND can. It’s not 1966 or 1977 anymore. The nostalgia is gone. All the advantages ND had in the 60’s 70’s and 80’s are gone. Long gone.

Great marketing. My kids wanted me to turn it on because they kept hearing about the huge pop tart.

Definitely.
You have to make the bowls fun and they do a fantastic job with it.
