"Go to hell Ole Miss" was a saying back when Billy Cannon was doing his thing on Halloween, back in 1959.

That "Rivalry" has been there...... (Just ask Archie Manning) But, it takes two teams being on the same level to keep it current. Ole Piss never kept up their end of the bargain.

This year doesn't qualify them as a "rivalry" other than the fact we bitch slapped them into reality when they thought they were becoming relevant again.

I'm sure that sting will hurt for awhile... Maybe if they were the Rebels, instead of the "Land Sharks" (What in the hell is that?) I'd care.

That was when BOTH teams were consistently good at the same time.

Ole Miss has fluke periods where they have a good/great season. But over the last 30-40 years they’ve not had seasonal outcomes nearly as good as LSU

So for now…..”NO”

When LSU plays Ole Miss in Oxford, it will be the hottest ticket to any collegiate event in our lifetimes. So I’d say yes.

Well yes. Its always been a rivalry. Not the primary one. But its certainly been escalated. I think at this point if you asked Ole Miss fans who they despise more, its LSU. State is clunking along in irrelevancey.

It’s a rivalry now.

We are still second place to the egg bowl.

It's not cool to admit you have a rivalry with another school for some reason. But it's always cool to claim the other school thinks it's a rivalry.

Based on how much we post about them, yes.

Used to be our biggest rival. And I think now it will be reborn in some ways... I'm sure it's exciting to the older fans

Bit of an overstatement, but yes. A big one.

No.

Reason?

We're paying several coaches not only to coach for their team during their playoff run, but we're paying them bonuses that they are entitle to. That's not something you do for a rival. That's something you do for a program you have contempt for.

Don't we have one of those for every single yearly game though?

Yes, they most certainly have been a heated rival, and there's no denying that in that we play them every year in the magnolia bowl for the Magnolia trophy
