TM has been pretty solid for the most part this year and has a strong case as well for the award but if Shough wins does he get it?

I wouldn’t be mad if they gave it to Tet. He’s had a good season. Shough is the best rookie in this class but he didn’t start playing till the season was half over. However, a good game tomorrow probably seals it for him.

I'm actually the #3 WR tomorrow, so if the Saints win he locks in MVP.

Tet broke 1000 and is sitting at 70 receptions and 7 tds.

If Shough pulls this out and doesn’t have a Big Ben vs the Seahawks Super Bowl stat line in the process I think he has a great shot.

Shough isn't winning the award. Tet is (-550) to win the award and his 40 yard 4th down catch solidified it tonight.

Yes. But i think winning for the saints will be a monumental task with the receivers we will have

Unbiasedly Tet should win. Shough needs at least one big stat game.

Tzimme is truly an idiot

Anyway, odds on Caesars as of this morning are McMillan -375, Shough +225. A little surprised at this as the gap was much closer at the beginning of the week.

Shough can still definitely win it today, but seems like a bit of a long shot. I will say, Peter Shrager said on the Simmons pod this week that Shough is a lock for OROY, said it was the all the way over. Fwiw

Tet would have finished 5th in receiving yards among rookies last season.

His rookie campaign is no better than the 27th best rookie receiving campaign ever (the list i could find had 25 and I know he has less yards than Olave did)

Its basically what you expect from a guy that goes 8th overall

I mean this year's offensive rookie crop is rather meh. nobody stood out.

TM took 17 games to barely break 1k yards
Egbuka played 17 games didn't hit 1k

Jeanty, Henderson, Judkins didn't hit 1k.
Harvey was a solid dual threat RB

Ward put up okay stats
Dart has less passing yards with more starts than Shough
Shough played half a seaso

In all honesty, this should have been an OL award this year with the way Campbell and Banks held their own

I went back and looked at all the OROY since like 2004.

The only times WRs won it were in

REC-Yds-TDS
2009 Percy Harvin 60-790-6 *2 KR TDs
2014 Odell Beckham Jr. 91-1300-12
2021 Ja'Marr Chase 81-1455-13
2022 Garrett Wilson 83-1103-4

Now the OBJ and Chase years completely shite on Tet but regardless,

Relevant QB candidates for those seasons
2009: Stafford went 2-8 with 13 TDs and 20 INTs
2014: Bridgewater went 6-6 with 17TD 12INT on 2900 yds
2021: Mac Jones went 10-7 with 22TDs 13INts on 3800 yds
2022: Pickett went 7-5 with 7TDs 9INTs on 2400 yards

So Chase and OBJ had like top7 all time rookie WR campaigns.

Kenny Pickett was just a passenger on bus and everyone knew it

Shough could potentially go 6-3 for a team that was 1-7 without him. Theres no comp for that. None.

If Shough can win today with basically practice squad players, he has a very good case when added to the rest of his season.
