Big accomplishment for Jets as he came into today with 947 yards and has 68 at halftime to put him over 1,000 for his first six seasons in NFL. Only he, Randy Moss, AJ Green and Mike Evans have done that. Congrats to a Tiger great!!!

If he and Chase retired now they’ve already had impressive careers.

This year has been the most impressive IMO considering the cheese dicks he’s had throwing him the football.

Not knocking JETS, but he’d even tell you it was a horrible year for him with the QB situation there. These marks for great seasons need to be changed for the increase in games played per season and the change in the NFL pushing offense over defense. 1,000 yards over now 17 games is 58.8 yards per game. Those are tight end numbers in today’s NFL. The same goes for every offensive position. With that said, it’s still nice to add to his legacy considering the shite show QBs there.

Justin is 26 years old and is already in the top 100 receivers in NFL history in receiving yards. 2 more years and he’ll easily be top 50. He is having a really nice career for anyone. He will likely be top 50 in receptions too. That’s pretty conservative estimates too.

Not knocking the accomplishment but why is 1,000 yards impressive for a receiver or rb in a 17 game era. I understand availability but that’s less than 59 yards per game avg
Again not knocking it, just more curious why it’s so celebrated

The Vikings aren't just wasting him in terms of wins and post season stuff, but they are damaging his career and legacy by having a bunch of frick-ups throwing him the ball. He was on his way to being a top 3 greatest WR of all time, and now he can barely break 1K yards.

How many tight ends currently have over 1000 yards?
I’ll give you a hint. It’s one, Trey McBride.

They need to get rid of their stupid arse GM.

There are 20 wide receivers with over 1,000 yards. That’s not an elite number. The entire point was 1,000 yards in 17 games where the NFL makes the rules favor the offense is a mostly passing league isn’t elite. That elite mark needs to be reestablished. Only 5 receivers have eclipsed 1,400 yards this year. That should be the mark. Almost 2/3 of the number 1 receiver on every team hits that 1,000 yard mark.

You said the 1000 yard benchmark is tight end numbers in today’s nfl. Now you’re moving the goal posts that your idiotic statement was proved invalid. Classic.

To be fair it at least 160 receivers on active rosters… the top 20 are kinda elite, no?

This makes the case even more for the top 20 being elite

It was clear in 2019 that, while Chase had impeccable physical gifts and was, frankly, a hard worker himself (along with that entire offensive team and staff), Jetts was committed to a philosophy that no one was going to outwork him.
Nobody worked harder that year at being a wide receiver than Jefferson, IMHO. The first step shenanigans he would pull when he wasn't even the primary receiver, the cuts, hand work, the effort to get to the ball, the fight, the balance, he used his entire body and brain to do that job.
