The nation’s average price of gasoline has fallen 1.2 cents over the last week and stands at $2.74 per gallon, according to GasBuddy® data compiled from more than 12 million individual price reports covering over 150,000 gas stations across the country. The national average is down 21.2 cents from a month ago and is 29.2 cents per gallon lower than a year ago. The national average price of diesel fell 2.3 cents in the last week and stands at $3.498 per gallon.
“Another week, and motorists have been greeted with the sixth straight weekly decline in the national average price of gasoline as seasonality continues to drive trends at the pump,” said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy.

After a busy weekend of events, including the U.S. arrest of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and OPEC+ agreeing to its existing pause on oil production increases into the first quarter of 2026, oil prices were trading slightly higher to start the new trading week. In early Monday trade, WTI crude oil was up 57 cents to $57.89 per barrel, slightly below last Monday’s $58.13 per barrel start. Brent crude oil was also higher in early trade, rising 55 cents to $61.30 per barrel, slightly lower than last Monday’s $62.02 per barrel start. Short-term impacts from the U.S. arrest of Maduro could raise oil prices slightly due to regime uncertainty in Venezuela; however, the long-term impact of potentially seeing increased output from Venezuela could cool global crude oil prices in the years ahead, especially if the U.S. is successful in raising investment in Venezuela’s crumbling infrastructure.

President Trump invading sovereign countries to steal their oil so U.S. gasoline prices go even lower ahead of midterms just so Republicans can win. Pitiful.

Yeah, nothing says "sovereign" quite like a dictator who usurps the result of a national election.
