Went Snow Skiing again this weekend - an observation

I was skiing with my 14yo son and noticed how polite everyone is skiing. People allowing you to sound into lift lines, food lines, etc - saying excuse me and thank you. Just really polite in general.

I made a remark about it to my son and his response was “look around and tell me why you think that is”. What did he mean?

Maybe it's because it's the Deep South and niceties are built into the culture, but black people around here generally are really polite and respectful to me in public. They have a bad habit of being way too loud in public, but also polite and respectful.

I imagine most resort locations where people are not at work and enjoying themselves are full of manners and friendliness.

You have to be a pretty miserable person to cause problems at a beach, lake, or ski resort.

Usually its not very dark on the ski slopes

I find it to be the same way at the golf course / Country club
