He thought there were about 30 in the trap, but hard to count. Turned out there were 54.

It was a daylight blood bath.

good job, kill em all.

I wouldn't want a picture bad enough to lay them all out like that, especially after loading them already

Hope he's got a big freezer or a LOT of friends wanting pork.

I took a big sow to the processor to have summer and breakfast sausage made. I then skinned 7 piglets to smoke whole at the house.

Another buddy claimed 2 more of the 5 big sows. We made him take 2 piglets.

We sent up the smoke signal and quite a few people were coming out of the woodwork for the piglets.

I actually think most of it has been spoken for.

Yep. Really the only way to put a dent in them versus shooting them while deer hunting, or hog hunts at night, etc.

Unrelated but on my place in South Texas we have our gut pile area where we dump carcasses. I used to eat wild hogs we'd shoot occasionally until thermals came out and we were able to watch the pigs absolutely demolish the carcasses every night. The sounds coming from them hogs crunching bones and shite stuck with me.

Excellent job. I know hogs are a huge problem in many rural areas and your picture just goes to prove how abundant they are. I was brought up "If you kill it, you eat it" and good to see you found folks to do just that.

For sure.

This is his own private property and he wasn't going to let any go. He reached out last night and a couple of us guys that all know each other but don't necessarily hunt together got it handled.

Like someone said above, just stacking them was a chore.

Don't care if you eat them or not, cull 'em.

your buddy did a fine job...I would have loved to see a picture of that trailer loaded...

sources say 70/80 % need to be harvested yearly just to keep them in check with only about 40/50% being taken...

You're missing out. I eat the hell out of those frickers. If I dont feel like skinning them I bring them to work, one of the welders will take them.

I'm not talking about vermin. I kill rats and mice and I'm not going to eat them either. I'm talking about animals that are found to be edible. I've eaten coon and I have absolutely no issue with nutria.

Coon baked with sweet potatoes is a good meal.
