But it has not been so very long since they were chanting "Death to America."
Seeing the mullahs gone would be a Good Thing, but we need to be VERY careful here.
Mobs tend to be fickle.

Eh, I'd be chanting "Death to America!" too if some government thug behind the scenes was hold grandma hostage.
I get what you're saying though. A good rule of thumb is to trust but verify.

It wasn't that long ago that normal, everyday citizens would've been afraid to say anything that didn't match up with that evil regime. The strong majority of Persians never wanted to be under the thumb of a radical Islamic regime. I mean, it's not like these bastards were ever elected by popular vote.
That's not to say these people will start waving American flags if/when they are totally free. But, we don't need Iran to be our biggest ally. We just need this demonic regime to collapse.

Do you REALLY not believe it would be in the geopolitical best interest of the US and its people, if that regime were to fall from power?

it would also isolate North Korea even more than now
they could be on deck for the next regime change and would be treading lightly

This situation reminds me of a work power dynamic that I found myself in once. I ended up in a position where I could essentially end a peers employment because of some things I caught that they were doing. A third peer, a little higher in the food chain, that I didn't have much interaction with hated the guy and found out that I had some leverage on him. He met with me and said:
"I'll give you the organization cover to bury this guy, because it benefits me and puts you in a better position. After he's gone you can reach out anytime about what our relationship looks like. Or we can go our separate ways, that's fine too. But it's definitely in both our best interest to have this guy gone. We can figure out the rest later."
Seems like that might be a the best approach. We can be there on the back channel to make sure they have enough motivation to not fail, because that benefits us. After that, the relationship is up to them to decide. We win either way.

It's almost as hypocritical as an American Democrat. Kinda brings into the question the whole basis for theocratical rule and what he/they expect of their subjects.

That was a pretty efficient kill there.

are you not familiar with USA's (CIA) role in every Iran regime change? How has that turned out over the last 50 years? What makes you think we'd get it right this time?

Los Angeles must be worried. Lots expat dough that could go bye bye if LA Expats pack up and leave for Iran
