There will be no commitment or transfer announcement. He'll have to unenroll from UW, then enroll at LSU, while in the background lawyers are arguing with each other.

Washington has 48 hours to enter him into the portal. They do not have a choice.

Not really. The new semester hasn’t started yet for either school so he should pretty easily be able to unenroll and then enroll. Not much UW can do about it if he doesn’t want to be there

Yes they do. They can’t withhold his name out of spite or they would open themselves up to a major lawsuit. They can sue him for damages for breaking his “contract” but they can’t stop him from leaving. And if they want to play that game he can drop out of UW and enroll at LSU. It won’t take that long and we are only in January so we have time. Not like practice is tomorrow

He may or may not owe Washington some money, but he can play wherever he wants. That’s not really at issue.

You bet your arse the day after we sign a qb Trinidad Chambliss will get his extra year of eligibility. Im convinced of this. This stuff doesn't take two months to rule on..

Maybe. But somewhere somebody is violating the NIL rules that NIL cannot be contingent on playing for a program. At worst he may have to pay some money back.

You just made my point. They don't have to put his name in the portal. He just has to unenroll. Sure he can sue for them not putting his name in the portal, but that's just a waste of time. UW is not on the hook for anything. If he wants to leave, he just has to walk out the door. Wisc/Miami player set the precedent. That's exactly what happened.

In all of this mess, is it possible for LSU to get in trouble with hosting a player not being considered for portal activity? Could we get sanctioned and have repercussions down the road? Hate for Lane and LSU is real. I could see them fu$&ing with us.

This is 100% false. NIL agreements do not supersede NCAA rules regarding transfers.
