What are your tips to maintain energy throughout the day?

What are some ways you keep yourself active and alert throughout the day and avoid the 2:30 feeling? I will get the occasional sinking spells at times. It's not consistent each day on timing, but I can almost expect it if I eat a big lunch or don't sleep well the night before. However, sometimes it's unpredictable. I'm just looking for some feedback on how people keep themselves level in a given day.
Is it simply something from the following list
- More sleep/better sleep
- Less alcohol
- Increased caffeine
- Introducing new products to your diet such as a pill or mushroom coffee
- Drink an energy drink
The things that I know help me are:
- Better sleep
- Managing caffeine intake
- Avoiding big lunches
I just don't know how to keep myself functioning closer to 100% at all times even when I check those three boxes. My typical workday is sitting behind a desk 6-8 hours just as an added reference.

Good sleep and don’t be fat. Very simple

7-8 hours of sleep, if you're not sleeping well, consider having a sleep study done for apnea. I had one done about 10 years ago, ended up having the UPPP surgery as well as a tonsillectomy. Opened up my airway, since I loathed the CPAP.
If you're a coffee drinker, try having it black and no added sugar or creamer. And limit it to 1-2 cups. I mostly skip breakfast before work, and have a protein bar around 9:30 or 10:00. Don't go heavy on carbs or fats at lunch.
The best thing though, is go for about a 15 minute walk a couple of times during the day. I do this while eating my protein bar, and again about an hour after lunch and have some green tea. Circulation and a little caffeine or nutrients does wonders.

Get up every now and then to stretch.
And yes, big lunches is definitely a huge driver of crashing you out. Especially food that is high carbs in content.
Believe it or not, intermittent fasting works great. It will take a while to get used to it though.

I ditched the desk printer. If I need to print something, I have to get up and walk to get it.
It’s a small thing, but I think it’s good for you.

Take a mid-day walk. Especially if you can go outside and get some sunshine. Even as little as 10 minutes refreshes you for the afternoon. If you can’t go outside, just get up and walk around the office and move.

Ditch the desk too. I went with a standup desk about 5 years ago and haven’t looked back. After Christmas break (2 weeks) I could feel the tiredness in my legs for the first 2 days back.

Eating an apple around 3 usually gets me out of the mid afternoon lull and helps me finish the work day

Why are people down voting this? It doesn't get anymore clear than that.

I get good sleep 95% of time and definitely not anywhere near fat.
However, there are times I struggle mid-afternoon with sluggishness. I usually just drink coffee and try to move around a little more like some of the responses suggest.

I'm a morning person. I get up at 4:40am and get back from the gym at 6:00am. My most productive work of the day is in the morning usually. I often crash and see productivity drop in the afternoons, so I try to manage my workflow so that I'm doing more meetings or active items in the afternoon, as staring at the computer lowers my energy even further. I get home from work pretty early, but it is kind of a bummer to feel just drained once I get home to my family.
It's completely counterintuitive, but if I go for a run or a bike ride or anything to get my blood pumping once I get home from work, my energy levels increase greatly, and I feel pretty good. If I sit down and read or scroll on my phone, I will feel very tired or even fall asleep (especially reading).
So yeah, I would say some activity.

If you're in an office like me, get up and move as much as possible. Those long sits will make your afternoon miserable.
Get enough sleep and eat a solid breakfast.

Take Vitamins: C, D3 & K2, Omega-3, Magnesium Malate
or at the very least a multivitamin
You will be amazed at how well this works.

If you can hit the gym at lunch do it. I have good energy in the morning and then after the gym I have really high energy levels the rest of the day. If it's a strenuous workouts sometimes I'll crash around 5:00 and need a short nap but most days I go straight through no issues.

Make sure to eat three meals a day even if its just some fruit for breakfast. Completely cut sugar out of your diet. It would be best cut out sugar AND any processed foods. Get to bed early and establish a consistent sleep schedule. During the day, move. That can be a walk outside or just a quick yoga routine in your office. Exercise on a regular basis.

1. Adequate sleep
2. No caffeine until you’ve been awake a hour
3. Go for a walk right after lunch
4. Creatine specifically creapure after lunch

I can’t imagine how bloated one would be by doing this.
