Do yall not realize lsu returns only 2 WRs ?

1 who didn’t play a snap last year and another who’s been injured the last 2 years of his career

We can and should definitely pursue and take Watkins

They probably take 2-3 more. They definitely take Watkins even if they didn’t plan to take anymore.

Things would be different if you had an established quarterback going into next year... Right now, there is no clear cut winner under the center.

Big time receivers would go here if they knew who was throwing them. The ball.

LSU has 6 portal WRs. At MOST we'd use 8 WRs (i mean with at least 1 catch). We bring in 2 freshman WRs as well.

Let me show how many receivers Lane has utilized the last 5 years.

2025 5 WRs got more than 3 catches
2024 4 WRs got more than 5 catches
2023 3 WRs got more than 5 catches
2022 4 WRs got more than 5 catches
2021 6 WRs got more than 5 catches

LSU got 5 stats guys plus a lower tier depth guy who has like 15 catches in 3 years. WE ARE GOOD. Watkins may be for the future, but it's more luxury now.

We have 10 WRs now.

Lane had 18 WR at ole Miss last year

LSU had 14

He hired 2 WR coaches at LSU…. We’re taking probably 4 more WRs

They don’t know shite.
We have to build a roster for depth, not just next year

I’m not panicking, Lane always has a good offense.

I am curious who the WR1 would be from the current group.

Kiffin runs things differently, like hybrid NFL system. Scholarships are also going to 105. You’re going to see teams take a lot more flyers and let them compete. CFB is changing so fast who knows what the final product is going to look like.

With the 2 returners paired with HS and Portal additions we now have 11 receivers

So by this logic we should only need 7-8 OL then

So why are yall freaking out about OL if that’s the case?

LSU needs to sign about 15 more from the portal just to get to 85. And that’s if they have no more defections. Or unless current walk-ons are given scholarships (e.g. like Picarella).

Can’t see Kiffin with less than 13-14 scholarship WR on roster. Watkins gets you to 12, so I’d guess 1-2 more after Watkins.

Umm Jayce Brown. That’s a pretty easy question actually. LSU has a few studs in this group that apparently none in this thread realizes.

Maybe we are taking that ‘Wide Receiver U’ moniker a little too literally.

2 plus 7 out of the portal so far may be what they are talking about.

Do we need “big time receivers” aka Cam Coleman? Or do you rely on Kiffin’s ability to evaluate the good WRs out there. Love what we’re doing. No reason to pay Coleman $3-4 million to come here.

Our WR room is going to be significantly better next season.

Yup. Get an unproven guy in here, let him compete, and if he earns it re-sign him for what he’s worth for the following season. College is just like the NFL. Let’s hope an unproven kid doesn’t bust out during the season and have 40 catches after six games with 9 TDs and tell the staff I’m sitting until you adjust my deal.
