Schools close, fears rise among Minnesota families, students amid ICE operations

Twin Cities area schools are struggling with the heightened presence of Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials in the Twin Cities and the killing of a woman by an ICE agent. School leaders say families are scared and absenteeism is climbing. Some districts cancelled classes Friday “due to ICE activity in our community.”
School leaders in districts around the Twin Cities said immigration enforcement actions are deeply affecting their students, staff and families.

Several district leaders said they or their staff members had encountered masked people in unmarked vehicles tailing, following and targeting their staff, students and families. The assumption is that these people are immigration enforcement officers, but it’s hard to tell because they are not in visibly marked uniforms.
North St. Paul-Maplewood-Oakdale Superintendent Christine Osorio said masked agents targeted her school secretary, who is a U.S. citizen.
“They sandwiched her in between her car — several agents at the crack of dawn,” Osorio said. “After waiting to see what they were going to do, she finally just went into the building, and then they drove away. But she was very shaken.”

When did everything become so "deeply" and "overwhelming"?

Are hyphenated school districts just as insufferable as people with hyphenated names?

I don't understand. Why are they afraid? Makes no sense.

Those kids are the bi product of nuts. They don't deserve an education.

Funny, they don't get snow days but they get ICE days.

They have to do it.
Talk without some sort of follow up action no matter how small is pointless.

Sure they do. It’s their parents’ fault.

It doesn’t even make sense. They sandwiched her in between her car. —- between her car and what?
At the crack of dawn. —- how dramatic.
After waiting to see what they were going to do, she finally just went into the building. —- yep, ICE sandwiched her in at the crack of dawn, then what? Just sat and looked at her until she went into the building? Right

These clowns know ICE presence / raids will continue for...at least 1105 days, 19 hours, and 22 minutes...right?
If there's any place ICE is disproportionately setting up shop for the remainder of the term, it's Minnesota
I guess the kids are never going back to school

I take it there are scores of illegals in these schools who are legitimately afraid to be found. Too bad

It's all theater, but eventually the fringe starts believing it and here we are.

School leaders say families are scared
Citizens have nothing to fear.
Are we to believe the entire city is populated with 100% illegals?
