Just how many WR do you need?

I mean, WOW. We have DEPTH at WR now. I hope we can go 4-5 wide with Green!! GEEZ...WHo do you cover??/?

I think Nic Anderson is still somehow on the roster too. He may have been a portal bust but the dude was a what, a 1000 yard all-sec freshman? You don't put those numbers up as a gimmick at Oklahoma. I still like his potential so hopefully he stays and sees what Lane can do with him. Think coming off the injury he just had a sophomore slump.

Fresh legs in a no huddle go a long way.
You can put 2nd or 3rd stringers in there and send them on verts to tire out the defense.
Stuff like that helps force a D in zone... which is where ya want them

I don’t know how many years of eligibility all of the WRs have, but:
1) Think if this as multiple classes coming in at once, so we added some “sophomores”, some “juniors”, and some “seniors” based on their eligibility years remaining.
2) WR is probably the most fluid position in the portal. I would venture to guess WRs have the most players enter the portal than every other position, so it makes sense to load up because at least 1/2 will not be on the roster next year.
3) One could make a case that more WRs could benefit from transferring than any other position. QBs have a case, but there are not nearly as many QBs in the portal as WRs.
4) I would imagine this is going to be pretty common for WR every year until more guidelines are added to the portal/NIL.

After grads, NFL and portal exits, we had 2 scholarship WRs left.

My HS coach use to do this against teams that played man. Just rotate kids in at WR and have them repeatedly run go routes
