One good sign from Tennessee and Miami still hot after Leavitt

With players getting 5 million plus in come cases, college football is a business more than ever. Its very likely LSU, Tennessee, Miami and other top programs now have attys drafting player contracts.
One has to assume due diligence is involved whenever one is spending millions. Due diligence can take many forms, like doing a background check or interviewing past coaches for discipline and character issue.
With a guy like Leavitt, I would think that due diligence extends to his medical situation. I am no nil expert, but part of my due diligence would be to have Leavitt copies of his medical records relating to his surgery and then have a orthopedist of my choosing review the records, at a minimum, if not see Leavitt.
That's all a long way of saying, I think its a safe bet that LSU, Tennessee and Miami have all done some sort of due diligence on the lis franc injury and have concluded that the surgery was successful and that his recovery is on track.
Of course there are no guarantees. But his issue with lis franc is well known. The fact Tennessee is so hard after Leavitt likely means that whoever is their medical advisor must have done some due diligence and concluded Leavitt appears to be on schedulr with his recovery. I would hope and expect LSU has done their due diligence too.

This may all be true but it is also true that fat man's seat is getting warm and their qb room is not good and word is they can't develop qbs. So this is a must win for TN and right now it's not looking good for them.

It is very likely Attorneys always have been drafting player contracts.

It dawned on me that the highest paid players are getting close to earning more than their head coach. Weird times

LSU team doctor was on with Hester and Flynn last week. Said that’s not always the case. Portal stuff moves so fast they don’t always have enough time to thoroughly review or might not get hippa authorization. They basically do the best they can with the info available.

Stupid times
Coaches have worked 30 years, had to grind, get fired a few times to climb the mountain and everyday their heads are at risk if they don't win
players have passed a few classes- and won what??????????????????
it's beyond stupid
glad I am not writing the checks, but I am seeing the college game get ruined
It's the NFL without an owner, free agency and no cap
the big money people will soon say "show me results"
then coaches will lose out to highest bidder and then lose their jobs at some point
the most wealthy booster who cares not how much will own college football

Well yes, I doubt they do the same due diligence on a guy like Roman Mothershed that they do on a multimillion dollar player. In this case, I think it near 100 % that LSU, Tennessee and Miami had their doctors review his records. Hippa is unlikely an issue. Leavitt and his brother probably have a full set of operating reports, imaging studies and progress notes to hand out on their road show.
Anybody paying over five mil to a college kid coming off a lis franc injury without investigating his medical prognosis and situation would have to be pretty dumb to me.
Thats why I am thinking it’s good that Miami and Tennessee are not spooked by the injury. As for the doctor you said was on Hester and Flynn, I bet he would say he does a lot more vetting of the high profile player with an injury history than the average Joe.
You dont think Tennessee, Miami and LSU all didnt do a deep dive on his medical situation before offering millions?

According to him, no. Don’t take my word for it. I’m sure the trainers talk with him and look at it but it’s nothing like NFL free agency and draft physicals.

Yeah, reviewing the records should be as simple as getting Levitt's signature on the appropriate medical release form. The MD likely wouldn't even need a CD of the X-ray images. The images can be electronically transmitted over the internet and viewed wherever, as long as there's internet access.
I have a hard time imagining that a detailed review of the injury, operation, X-ray images, follow up exams and rehab progress weren't done by the LSU medical staff. After all, Leavitt is a multi-million dollar investment. A miss w/ him would really damage LSU's hopes for a "good season" next year. And at LSU, a "good season" now means going to the playoffs.

What’s that about due diligence? Did you say due diligence? Don’t mind if I due diligence.

No way they have time for a doctor to truly evaluate the player. Crazy that physicals aren’t mandatory for players signing a contract. It should be no different from NFL.

Funny how they were above paying Nico and told him to kick rocks and now they are willing to pay whatever it takes to sign a new QB

That's why NFL players are making 20 to 60 million a year while coaches make 8 to 15.
