Former Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot Sued Over Unpaid Chase Credit Card Bill

How does someone making over $500k a year get sued for not paying an $11,000 credit card bill?

Lightfoot was served with the lawsuit at her home in October for allegedly failing to pay about $11,078 in bills, according to a copy of the complaint filed in Cook County Circuit Court. The suit declares that she did not object to the final statement from the bank in August 2024, before it declared the debt a charge-off. Lightfoot had been a Chase cardholder since 2005.

She didn’t think she had to pay it cause the credit card company had insurance for that.

Keep voting for people that can't even take care of their own finances and expect them to take care of the city's finance. New Orleans and teddy is the same story. Can't be trusted with money

This is common. Especially for Black female politicians.
White people do it to but not as prevalent.
They make great money, often have pension etc. Yet, operate as if they don't need to pay bills.
It's one thing to legit not have the money, it's another to basically say "frick you I'm not paying".
