As per Blake Ruffino. Said LSU isn’t paying that, but thinks Miami will. Staff seems to think with what they have, what they brought in and the coaches to develop that they don’t need to overpay for him.

If true I can see LSU not paying that.

Kid had 10 sacks in the sec
No one we had was even close to that. Worth the money imo

Sacks get you paid for sure, doesn’t always tell the full story.

Dawg, 3 Mil is more than a decent amount of NFL lineman make.

Nope. The money Wilson is asking for needs to be going to Seaton if I were Lane.

He is not worth 3 mil.
I'd rather split that in 2 and get a lineman and pass rusher from a smaller conference. I thought glasscock was supposed to be one of the best scouts around.

Bakers defense generates pressure in plenty of ways. Paying that much for a pass rusher is over the top.

Bet the would’ve gone 2 maybe a bit more because teams gotta scheme against him but that’s about it.

Miami just got to the natty off multiple difference makers on the DL. This dude would likely be as good as Mesidor and better than anyone but Bain on their DL. Not sure why this board thinks you can roll out budget transfers all throughout the roster and lineup against the Texas and Georgias of the world.

vs SEC opponents he had 6 sacks. Not worth 3 mil.
Between Kevin Peoples, Sterling Lucas, and Blake Baker, I think we can scheme up a way to get to the QB with our 9 DEs currently on the roster

Like Indiana is doing? Evaluation and development are more important than throwing money at this highest rated players.
I trust this staff to do it right.

Lane isn’t Cig or he’d have done what Cig is currently doing with even better resources at Ole Miss than Indiana. if Cig wins monday night he’s probably generational.

quote:Worth it. Texas Tech paid 3 mill for their edge rusher and he comes in and led the country in sacks. Texas Tech spent 7 mill on their defensive line. Another guy from G Tech got paid 1.5 mill while he was getting 250k at GT. He finished tied for 15th in sacks. They went from the 122nd scoring defense to the #3 scoring defense.

I will say this again. We just gave 6.5 mill to a QB coming off a lisfranc injury who won't even be ready to practice in the spring and could legit limit his excellent dual threat ability, but we can't spend on an elite edge rusher when we were straight arse in pass rush?
It would have been insanely better to get Longstreet and pay the big money for Wilson and OT Seaton. I will say this every single time. FOUR redshirt freshman QBs finished in the top 7 of QB ratings.

Maybe Miami will pay him, but he's only a 1 year player. He's a good player, maybe he'll get what he's asking. No harm in asking what you think you're worth.
If I were LSU, you could get 2 starting OL for that amount or less. IMO.

I think that’s a million high for Leavitt and the contract supposedly has built in protections for injury issues.

I can’t stress this enough. You do not know as much as you think you do. We have some of the best talent evaluators in college football. They have a plan for 2028 I can assure you they have a plan for next year

My brother in Christ he literally did do what cig is doing at ole Miss, they were one game away from a natty with a roster and program he built, with a lot developmental players in the portal that other teams didn’t want. Stop being a hypocrite.

year 6 vs year 2…Lane was absolutely the right man for the job but we don’t have to be massive homers.
