Curious about the stats on this new world of college football. In particular, are the risks well understood by the players? How much bad info is given to them by their so called agents.

Read where over 9k players were in transfer portal. Many will say goodbye forever to football in so doing.

Make it stop! T-Shirts now on order.

Probably none. If you put on and LSU uniform, you're good enough to play somewhere.

They don’t have to sign by today. It may take a little more time for some, buy they’ll probably all get signed.

The point of the transfer portal is not just to get promotions….a whole lot of them get “‘’processed” through it too. Some will have to drop down to a mid-major or even Div 2….but all should find a new home.

Toviano is the one that has surprised me so far. But then again, it took Parker several days to find a new team and it happened to be Ohio State. I will say there have only been a couple of surprises to me...OL...who signed with good SEC teams. But then again, the pudding proof will be do they start or are they just "depth pieces.' If depth pieces, then we could say

LSU bad OL starters = other teams good depth pieces

If you're good enough to be put on scholarship at LSU, you can certainly play for a syracluse, Tulsa, Charlotte, or some other girl's school.

It's the players kicked out of the girl's schools that may not find a home.

Well, wondering about the LSU players and wondering about the system as a whole are two different things, I would say. As someone above said, if you're good enough to land on the roster at LSU, someone will pick you up.

However, given past results, a quick search shows around 30-35% never find a home. That means, many will leave a perfectly good scholarship for a degree and land out in the cold.

So you bring up a good point. How do scholarships work now in NIL world? NCAA allows for so many scholarship players and then walk ons. But if everyone is getting paid, isn’t that a scholarship?

I know your question was not directed to me, but this has been discussed amongst the NCAA participating schools and the Feds. If the athletes become employees of the school, many believe the scholarship will go away. However, some schools (TCU comes to mind) have a clause where employees and/or children of employees have free tuition. Some do not. If they do not become employees, then there will likely be "roster limits" and it will be up to each individual school as to whether they offer a scholarship or not.

I really don't know the particulars. I would imagine most players are getting paid enough to pay for their school if they don't have a scholarship. That's just a guess though.

So I’m looking at the OL who transferred to SEC schools:
Tyler Miller (Miss State)
Ory Williams (Tenn)
Tyree Adams (aTm)
DJ Chester (Miss State)
Coen Echols (aTm)
Carious Curne (Ole Miss)

Miller and Curne were true freshmen this year. Williams and Echols were RS freshmen. I think it’s tough to say much regardless of what those guys do elsewhere. If Adams and Chester go on to become all-SEC players, that’s gonna say a lot about Brad Davis.

Scholarship limits were eliminated under the House settlement. Instead, there are strict roster limits. There were already squad size restrictions for games (for example SEC rules dictate how many players may dress and how many players may participate for home/away teams) but now there are firm roster limits that take it a step further.

So in football, previously you had 85 scholarships but might have 120+ players on the roster. Now you only have 105 roster spots, but you can give scholarships to all of them if you choose.

The net result is that schools can offer a lot more scholarships than they could previously. This adds quite a bit of cost. Up to $1.5 million of that new cost counts against the $21 million revenue sharing cap. Since most P4 programs are fully-funding the new scholarships, this means that they actually only have $18.5 million for direct revenue sharing payments.

There are plenty of 'lesser' opportunities from them.

Curne I expect to do well. Same with Echols. Adams I have doubts about. Chester IMO has 0.0% chance. Same with Mubenga. I have seen all those enough to give my opinion on their talent. Miller and Williams I have no info about. Regardless of all of those theoretical grades, I'm pretty sure Brad Davis was a bad OL coach. The simple reason: even untalented players SHOULD improve. None of those above who had many starts seemed to improve AT ALL!
