Some honest questions:

1) Do you generally pay much attention to these people or give much weight to what they have to say?

2) Do you think it's appropriate for them to use awards shows to push their various agendas?

3) Did you prefer it when late-night talk shows were almost exclusively focused on entertainment, or do you prefer the highly political direction followed by hosts like Jimmy Kimmel and Stephen Colbert.

I'm just curious. We can have a civil discussion if everyone is so inclined.

Why would I care what they think? Their opinion doesn’t matter anymore than mine, yours, or anyone else on TD. They’re just people who happen to be famous. Big whoop. They still pee and poop the same as you and I.

I don't care what they say, even the conservative ones.

I don't watch award shows.

Late night shows have always been for fools. One long advertisement for some bullshite masked as entertainment. Again, I dont care what any of these people have to say. Same goes for coaches and players of any team I watch. I don't care what they have to say about the game either. A press conference after a game is absurd. As if it's something important.

1. No
2. Never watch them.
3. Never watch them, except for old Carson clips on YouTube.

I much prefer the old days...I had no idea whether Johnny Carson was a Republican or a Democrat.

George Clooney is an expert on foreign policy, much like our very own SFP.

WOW. No, not saying your post is inappropriate, but upon clicking thought I would see this maybe only your 10th post.

Are these questions for a class at some esteemed university?

Doesn't matter if any of this is appropriate, or what we prefer. That ship has sailed- talk shows will now forever be a gang bang of politics and alleged jokes.

I have a lot of respect for the ones that buck the trends, like Vince Vaughn and Tim Allen.
Their consciences have prob cost them 6 figures, and I can admire that.

Honest questions, honest answer.
After publicizing several celebrities were being paid large sums to campaign for Kamala, I realized that none of them do it for free out of their own beliefs. They are professional actors and they are compensated well for playing their part. Not for one second do I believe they support or really even know what they proport.

I like it when they say things that I agree with.

Don't care. None of them have an education in any relevant field to have an opinion on anything. If they have degrees at all, it is usually from a film school, etc.

Some of them just go with the flow to avoid controversy. It's peer pressure.

I heard Mark Wahlberg make a comment about that one day. He basically said famous people need to keep their mouths shut because they do not live in the real world.

Mostly agree. But I do think Colbert and Kimmell are True Believers.

They have a platform to share their opinions because they are celebrities. Their opinions used to carry some weight. Those times are over as most have realized that they are not the heartbeat of America. In fact, they are seen as the anti American establishment.

Celebrities using their positions to raise money and awareness for common good issues has been a net positive for society but somewhere along the way… to many began to feel their celebrity status bestowed upon them a level of intelligence that many don’t possess. While some are intellectually competent on certain issues, many share an inability to see that their reality isn’t equatable to the average persons reality.. Which can cause immense damage to the modern fragile social media mind of far to many people..

Doesn’t make a difference to me. The ones that are siding with them because of their thoughts are brainwashed and have no opinion other that of the famous Hollywood types, usually regret it later.
