My wife's friend and her husband have a group of retired friends who like to travel to various interesting places. Last year they went to Cuba and stayed in what was called a luxury hotel. There was no air conditioning, no hot water and electric power was spotty. They all suffered food poisoning probably due to lack of refrigeration. They won't be going back.

A traveler I watched went there and talked to many locals. Apparently, a few got arrested for being in the video.

Name of hotel should have been mentioned.

I’d like to check out this hotel with the internets.

I went in 2017 and if someone tells you it's a shithole, believe it. In Havana their public water system consists of a tank on your house and you only have a certain time in the morning and a certain time in the evening to fill your tank. That's the time they turn the pumps on, if you miss then hope you have enough to make it. There are no "pressurized" faucets, only gravity feed from your tank.

My fiancé is Cuban. Lovely lady not even 5 feet tall.

Her family has told me they think the entire thing collapses completely within the year absent the Venezuelan constant influx of oil and cash. They simply have no way to obtain money or run energy

I hope Trump can assist their freedom as US president, and then in retirement make it a personal hobby of developing it into a paradise.

Ooof. Baaad timing. Already degraded as of last year then? Was it Havana?? But...the parade 50s cars must have been cool at least...

Could have been worse -- they could have been stuck there during the coming chaotic war and global takeover.

I hope the people treat the government like jihadists treat gays.

Bingo.

Venezuela was the financial lynchpin for the Chinese led anti-America campaign in the western hemisphere. Canada was headed that way too and with another 4-8 years of Biden/Harris for it to metastasize we would’ve found ourselves surrounded north and south in our own backyard while China prepared to pull the rug out by eliminating the dollar as reserve currency.

*IF* Trump can consolidate our control down there a lot of dominos are going to start falling our way and it’s my hope we can get Brazil back in the fold under Bolsanaro as that was an obvious State/CIA color revolution down there to get him out and in prison for messing with the WEF/globalist agenda.

I can’t speak for the people living in Cuba now but we go to visit her family in Miami a lot and they all are some of the most pro Trump people I have ever met.

They’re basically Lindsey Graham when it comes to their opinion on what we should to Cuba

Which makes sense her family and many in Miami are exiles driven from their homes. In her case her parents were forced to flea

There were some tourists who told of private homes that acted as sort of Bed and Breakfast. They were far superior to hotels because they only got paid if they provided good service. The hotels didn't give a shite because of the communist system.

Honest to God, for the most part i would've said that is true.

But trump is different. He isn't afraid to try to win. He just doesn't not want to lose.

Gaza problem... handled.

Maduro problem... handled.

There could be two other massive things out there.

Imagine is trump gets a secular government in iran and a pro American government in Cuba.

That would be among the greatest foreign policy wins ever in America. And trump had 4 of them.

Good idea how if pulls off both but just being one would be amazing.

The natives are used to the primitive conditions.

Title should be “Cuban tourists on the brink”.

Cuban's never been anything but 'On the brink.' Even when the Soviets were subsidizing the Cubans they were 'On the brink.' They're probably going to be the same way come the 22nd century.
