There is overwhelming concerns about the Receiving core that I believe is excessive.

WR:
1. Olave
2. Vele
3. Polk
4. #42
5. Tipton
6. Damien Alford
7. Bub Means

Our #2-#4 WR's have 5 games combined played with Shough which makes criticism of the WR core mute until they really play together. I think Polk/ Alford can exceed expectations along with the potential of our drafted WR.

TE:
Juwan Johnson
Treyton Welch
Moliki Matavao

IMO we need another TE to run 2 TE sets and we do not need an additional WR. Add Goedert to this group and we have a top 15 receiving core or better.

Olave
Vele
Goedert
Johnson

With plenty potential from Polk/ Alford/ Draft.

I expect Moore to go after Goedert and inquire about AJ Brown

I’d call Pittsburg and try to get one of their three tight ends. They paying Freiermuth a decent salary and have Jonnu Smith. They use Washington a lot and he’s the best blocker and red zone target.

Read Freiermuth wasn’t happy that he lost out on alot of playing time this year b/c of the committee. I’d see what it would take to come off one of the three.

Tysons injury history will cause him to drop. And the Saints should be very very mindful of drafting another injury prone player.

If we take a WR at 8, it probably will be Lemon

Don’t forget about Trey Palmer. He has a decent chance to do something.

We are about to pay Olave as our #1 and are not going to pay another #1. You don't have to agree with that move but you will have to eventually accept it.
Olave is #1 and whatever WR drafted at #42 has a chance to be #1.

I don't think there's a scenario where we pay AJ + Olave $70mil. $30mil is 2 starting OG's, we aren't breaking the bank at WR.

Goedert could be a lock and that would be great. I also think we target Nakobe Dean from Philly.

Nakobe Dean/ Goedert/ David Edwards are my big 3 this offseason.

This is all true. If they extend Olave, I don’t think the prudent move would be to go into FA to sign/trade for someone to play that #1 role over Olave. However, if you draft one, the contracts would coincidentally be setup that when that rookie’s 2nd contract rolls around; you should be able to move on from Olave if he demands a high $$$ 3rd contract

Back to your OP, this team can make great strides getting a top WR or TE and adding solid depth at the other one whether it’s via draft or FA. Going for both is more of a luxury this team can’t afford with all of their holes

We need 2 starting OG's that would cost $12-$20mil each. Cam/ DD are on borrowed time even with great play and Bresee will look for a big contract without amazing production.

OG/ LB/ DL are by far the biggest needs and unironically will cost the most for high end players.

If we are spending another +$15mil on duplicate positions then it better be OG/ LB/ DL and not WR.

you cant pay 2 WR top money. We have to hit in the draft or hope Vele or Means can be the big possession guy.

Cade Otton wouldn’t be a bad add in free agency.

You list a WR1 and a TE1 but yet not a Lg or RG. Always post w an agenda. Olave is WR1 this year whether you like it or not. Juwan is TE1 although we need a versatile complete 1B.

What do you think my agenda is? I was trying not to list the whole team

Neither of your top 2 are actual needs.

They need:
OG1
OG2
OLB1
DT1
TE1
WR2

Just about anything else is a want. Those are the actual needs.

As far as S/ CB I personally want to draft Downs at #9 and then trade the house to MIA for #11 and take Delane. That solves everything besides the list above.

CB: Delane/ Alontae/ Kool-Aid/ Riley
S: Downs/ Sanker/ Howden/ Blackmon

I wish Tate would fall to 8. He’s the guy I want. I hate that we slipped that far down but Saints should still walk off with a really great player in that spot whether it be Peter Wooods, David Bailey , styles. Etc. To be honest I wouldn’t mind trading back in this draft if someone was desperate for a particular player and we could add an additional second or potentially an extra first for next year. I’d really look to shop that pick if there isn’t someone they absolutely love sitting there for the taking.

If they re-sign Taylor, corner is not really a need. And Downs is good, but safety is also not a need. So u want to trade the house for two positions that are really not needed?
