I don't think it's ever happened in the history of living man.

Every single one is either lost, washed or melts before being 100 used up.

i did an experiment where i bought a 12 pack of pens at Dollar Tree and put them in my desk drawer to see what would happen.

less than a year later and i'm down to ONE..and its missing its cap.

i am installing air tags on my next set of pens.

I'm about to finish one, for the first time in memory, and it's the stick I keep in my car. Every other one, for decades, has died in the right cargo pocket of my shorts in the dryer.

I have some Carmex my grandmother gave me 5 years before she died. She died 13 years ago. Works great for the 4 times a year I need to use it.

How? I can maybe understand in the winter, but that first 85 degree day when it gets 100 degrees in my truck, any chapstick that I left in there is melted.

I park in a garage at home, and the place I keep it in the console is never exposed to direct sunlight. When I had to park my truck in a driveway, I could never leave it in there, or it would melt, which is which I started putting it in my right pocket, which resulted in repeated dryer sacrificies. The worst part about that is getting the chapstick out of, invariably, the most expensive shirt that was in that particular load of laundry.

I've been using Cross pens for a long time. One color is at my home desk, one color is in my travel backpack, another color is in my work bag. They're only about $30 a pop, and I haven't lost one since maybe 2011. I think that one was a dark green ATX, and I couldn't find it in the carpet of the conference center. Since then, it's all hi-viz colors I just made my mind up that I'm not closing on a house or writing a 4-5 figure check with a 10 cent pen.

Recently, for the first time in my life, I retired a stick of chapstick that I had from package to trashcan. Felt like a huge accomplishment.

that greatly depends which chapstick you are referring.

Nightstand Chapstick - when not stolen (by me) typically is used 100%
Jacket chapstick - gets melted in the dryer and pisses off the mrs's
Truck chapstick - gets melted or lost
misc chapstick - always lost or given to kids...who eff it up.

My dentist has free lip balm sticks by the checkout desk.

My golf buddies have the greasiest drivers in central Georgia. I changed my swing years ago, I only slice when I get outside my normal swing speed. Well, most of the time.

I once emptied an entire jar of Carmex, liked scraped the inside clean with my finger. I may make a request to have that in my obituary. No one will believe it.
