Democratic Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar filed paperwork on Thursday to create a campaign committee to run for governor in the state -- the latest step indicating that she is nearing an official announcement to enter the race.
A source close to the senator said that her filing "is a preliminary step necessary for any candidate considering a run. The senator will make an announcement of her plans in the coming days."
