Let’s go get whoever it is if anything to generate some excitement!

Unfortunately, with LSU’s commitment to basketball in terms of NIL and facilities, I don’t that guy is available, whomever it might be.

A lot of guys could sign all the best players in the portal with the biggest budget. This isn't a knock on Lane, it's just reality.

You assume Verge will continue the status quo of the former AD. We don’t really know that yet.

Lane has proven he’s an elite coach as well though. Not just getting the talent there.

Sadly, probably Will Wade
He was just 10 years ahead of his time
Otherwise, maybe this guy?
Chris Gerlufsen, San Francisco
Todd Golden’s top assistant at San Francisco has kept the Dons program rolling, withstanding an injury to a huge piece in Ndewedo Newbury to win 25 games a year ago. Gerlufsen has proven to be a creative recruiter and has done an impressive job retaining top talent, including keeping potential NBA prospect Tyrone Riley for his sophomore season after he tested the portal. Breaking through to the NCAA tournament is incredibly difficult in a league with Gonzaga and Saint Mary’s, but the Dons deserve tremendous credit for consistently scheduling up in the nonconference to give themselves a puncher’s chance at an at-large.

LSU basketball is Ole Miss in the Lane Kiffin scenario

People are loath to admit this. What we really need is not a 2026 Lane Kiffin equivalent but rather a 2000 Nick Saban or a 1984 Skip Bertman equivalent who can come in and convince the powers that be to right the ship structurally for LSU. Though the program in MBB is closer to 1999 football than 1983 baseball in terms of the athletic department priorities.
