Nuss's problem wasn't getting hurt.

I've been one of Nuss's biggest critics. I thought he stat padded against bad competition in 2024. He was abysmal in the big games (at A&M, Bama, at Florida) and he was just flat out awful against Ole Miss until the final drive of the game.
He made some throws that wowed us and he obviously is very talented. He played well down the stretch against some middle of the pack teams. A lot of people assumed he would have this Burrow and Daniels type leap into his second full year as a starter, and it just never materialized.
I get that he had an awful offensive line, no run game and a terrible OC to add to the mix.
But being hurt doesn't make you throw into triple coverage against Ole Miss with Bauer Sharp wide open on the underneath route.
Being hurt doesn't make you throw across your body Brett Favre style into double coverage against Florida when you are trying to hold a lead in the 4th.
He was way too quick to leave the pocket even when he had decent protection and he buckled at the slightest sign of pressure, and that dates back to 2024.
He immediately hit the ground when a defender barely touched his foot in one of the games earlier this year that we lost when he had plenty of room to step up and escape.
Nuss seems like he is a really good kid and I admire that he stayed here when he could've easily left to go chase money and/or earlier playing time.
But his decision making has always been my biggest issue with him. I hope he makes it in the NFL and proves everyone (including myself) wrong.

Yeah not to beat a dead horse but without the Ole Miss win in 2024 there wouldnt have been this hype.
Alot of people who got trapped on the Nuss Buss are seeking some moral victories this week after the Senior Bowl

Everyone will find out how much his supposed injury was a factor on things when he’s in the NFL. There’s no need to overanalyze. We will be able to see it.

Not a whole lot to talk right now until baseball starts back up with recruiting dying down and the McMahon Clown Show at the PMAC.

Yeah getting hurt forces you to throw into triple coverage with a clean pocket.

Love Nuss but not an NFL guy
He's short and between the ears issue

Only idiots were celebrating Nuss in that game. Starting the 4th quarter he had a sub 30% completion. The whole reason we had to come back to win it is because of Nuss sucking for 4/5 of that game.
And then Arkansas next week? Go rewatch it. Nuss threw 3 INTs that were legit dropped by Arkansas. Im talking in their hands/chest dropped.
I called it March of 2025. Yall were putting to much expectations on a guy who wasnt nearly as good as yall all think.

While I might agree with some of OP points. He reminds me of a poor man's Brett Favre.

Not sure why you feel like beating this dead horse. He was in fact hurt, his offensive line did in fact suck, his running game was in fact non-existent, and his offensive coordinator was in fact terrible. Yes, some blame should go his way for decision making, but he faced an absolute mountain, and who knows what his decision making would have looked like had he been in a competent offense. No one player should take the heat - the offense collectively stunk.

Nah, Nuss just had a terrible head coach and being hurt contributed as well this year.

Nuss is and will always be a horrible decision maker. It will always be his biggest downfall along with his piss poor work ethic. Burrow and Daniels made the leap because they did whatever it took to get there. Nuss didn’t give a shite. Anybody can disagree with me but it’s the truth. He pretty much admitted his laziness in an interview before the season.

Makes it a little difficult to have success, injured or healthy.

25/50–405 yards—2 TD/3 INT
27/42–239 yards—1 TD/2 INT
27/47–260 yards—1 TD/0 INT
22/51–337 yards—3 TD/2 INT
Those are the stats from the games you mentioned. While note great, the use of the word “abysmal” should get your stupid arse banned. We’ve seen abysmal QB play as LSU fans, and what Nuss put out there was far from it.
The hate Nuss gets from this fanbase for his play in 2024 is ridiculous.

I guess you could do better ?

I understand, but I wasn't thrilled with decisions he made in a multitude of games by throwing into traffic against A&M, Florida, South Carolina, Ole Miss, etc. even when he had a clean pocket.

He threw into traffic because teams were rushing 4 and dropping 7 against LSU for 2 straight years.
Why was that happening?
