Massive great white shark detected by researchers off Mississippi coast

Around the middle of January, the 12-foot, nearly 1,000-pound female shark, known as "Ernst," was detected off the coast of Gulf Shores, Alabama, after her satellite tag pinged, researchers said.
That location a few weeks ago marked one of the westernmost points recorded for a great white shark in the Gulf and was considered unusual behavior, researchers told news agency SWNS.

Walking around in the water with a stringer of bloodied trout seems less appealing knowing great whites are in the area.

The big girls are between 15-20 feet. But they just had to have a story about a mid-sized female GW and sensationalize it as “massive.” She needed about 6-12 more feet to be made a fuss over.
