My understanding is that ICE prioritizes dangerous alien criminals.
They need to add aliens who are employed by government and can exercise authority over citizens.
No illegal should ever be placed in a position of authority over a citizen.

She also said she sent a fax to immigration asking about the man’s status but never received a return fax.
Sources inside NOPD said the chief was surprised to learn immigration status is now routinely verified during background checks, adding that the process once relied more heavily on personal references and trust.
Kirkpatrick acknowledged the department may review its hiring procedures but warned against unnecessary modernization. “Not every new system improves things,” she said, recalling a time when interagency coordination was simpler and federal agents did not appear without advance notice.
ICE officials confirmed the detention and declined further comment, noting the situation “raised questions on both sides.”

Would love to know the basis for the fraud denial. To get a marriage fraud finding during the I-751 and not the I-130 stage is pretty difficult, it must have been blatant fraud for him to get popped.

New Orleans has one of this nation's highest crime rates, NOPD is severely under-staffed, and the Chief is still sending faxes on background checks for new hires.
