I feel I haven't seen a commercial or ad about the winter games yet. I didn't even realize it started on Friday until someone else mentioned it. Anyone else get this perception?

The winter games always seem to get less hype but yea I’ve noticed. I think a lot of it has to do with everyone watching their own apps and streams. Nothing that isn’t owned by comcast is going to be pushing NBC programming.

I like the winter games. There are some interesting events. The Ski Jumping is super bad arse. That must be the coolest feeling flying that fast so close to the ground.

Ill watch whatever events are streaming.

Do you watch any NBC shows or Peacock? Aside from Sunday night football I couldn't even tell you what their programming is anymore.

NBC and NHL games. That’s the only ads and convo around it I’ve seen but if you watch either they’ve been going on about it for the past month.

The last Olympic Games I actually watched other than some one off curling or hockey matches was the 2002 game in Utah. It’s only gotten worse with streaming. I don’t catch cnbc anymore with my provider and peacock is fricking useless other than a football game and nba game every now and again.

I won’t be watching. Y’all enjoy if it’s your jam though. I hope the us does well.

It’s mostly all white people so the media doesn’t want to hype it

Old boomer white peolple. My kids have never asked me about the Olympics and they are in high school.

Also do these games make money? Every time I hear about them it leaves the taxpayers stuck with empty buildings and slush funds? Am I wrong?

Winter games starting 2 days before the Super Bowl doesn't help it's cause.

I was bored last weekend and decided to see when and where some of the events were scheduled.
I gave up when there were lots of events listed that wouldn't be broadcast, and the broadcasts that were listed are channels we don't pay to get.
We'll be rewatching Game of Thrones and My Name is Earl. Maybe even get around to Stargate.

Speed skating is cool.

But ever since NBC decided to fight with DirecTV about 3 years ago, I onlly put effort into watching one or two NFL games and a golf major if it's on NBC. Other than those couple of times a year, that channel doesn't exist for me.

The 1994 Lillehammer Games were awesome. So many storylines and great moments of course Nancy and Tonya Harding.

Dan Jansen's redemption, watched it live.

I'm an olympics mark, but the winter games seem to be slowly dying.

They are having trouble even finding hosts
