My mom just moved there a few years ago and visiting for a week. Looking for seafood and southern dishes.

I’ve been to Gallaghers, Chimes, Dakota and Bears for lunch.

Am I missing out on a few must tries?

Bon Sake sushi on Columbia is fairly new, and the best sushi you’ll ever have.

Everything he said ^^^^

Greyhound and Tavi are the places we eat the most. We also like Valencia. Meribo Pizza is just OK not worth a whole lot of effort. The restaurant next to Columbia St Tap Room is also very good (same owner)

You should also turn her on to aquistipaces for groceries if she hasn’t been there yet

cgrand, I have my first first date since 1989 in a week. Which do you suggest for a non-OTBaller? Mandeville might be nice, too. I like the look of Valencia, Marcello's and Apperetif.

I just started following them on IG. They popped up recently in my algorhythm.

Is this run by Chef Besh?

if the weather is nice book a table on the porch at Valencia, order a pitcher of sangria and some tapas and turn on the charm. If you strike it rich, the southern hotel is right across the street

Thanks, buddy. That DOES sound excellent.
I've looked at the menu and almost have the order ready.

frick that place. It's owned by the bitch who also owns DelPorto, and she was out there cheering the burning of cities during the BLM riots. She's an absolute awful human being, so support her with your money knowing this first.

Nuvolari, although in Mandeville and not Covington, is the best restaurant in the area since being bought by the new Chef/Owner about a year and a half ago. If you are strictly looking for Covington, then ignore this; however, if you are good driving an extra 5-10 mins then this is worth your time.

Seiler Bar shares the same kitchen as the Tap Room. Tap Room has really good appetizers and specials which you should not sleep on because its just the corner neighborhood bar.

I find the inside at Valencia pretty loud if you value meaningful conversation.

Check out Dakota too. Great date spot. Nice bar/lounge area too if you want to keep things lighter

As someone who has worked at another Marcello's and dined at the one in Lafayette many times, I would suggest there.
