The board's favorite white leftist opinion columnist, Gordon is back with another hysterically out of touch opinion piece on slave labor at Angola!

Apparently, that retard doesn’t know the 13th Amendment exists, or the fact that farming/agriculture was the primary occupation of over half of the USA when the 8th Amendment was ratified (i.e., not "cruel and unusual" punishment).

Has this overstuffed cheetos been writing ther efor like 15 years now? Seems like it.
Regardless, the writer demonstrates a strong command of pacing but undermines his credibility through a partial and inflammatory use of language that implies racism without adequate support. More critically, he fails to connect his arguments to substantiating evidence, weakening their logical foundation. Most disappointing of all, the work feels devoid of sincerity or depth... like it lacks soul or something

Opinion: Slavery continues with Angola’s farming practices. It must be stopped
quote:
On Feb. 10, lawyers representing thousands of Louisiana State Penitentiary inmates argued before a federal judge as part of a class-action lawsuit seeking to end the forced labor practiced on the prison’s “Farm Line.”
The testimonies given by the men who worked the Line at the prison, which is commonly known as Angola, paint a harrowing picture: hours of working under the oppressive Louisiana sun with minimal access to water, modern tools or protective clothing, all under the watchful eye of armed guards on horseback.
One inmate stated his skin began to bubble from the intensity of the heat. When considering that roughly 80% of the Angola population is Black, the intentional design of the system becomes clear.
The Farm Line is merely a continuation of a long and ugly history of perpetual chattel slavery in the state of Louisiana, and its existence remains an archaic stain on our justice system.
Angola has its roots in the consolidation of a number of plantation properties by Confederate Maj. Samuel James, who possessed the lease for the convicts of Louisiana State Penitentiary.
In the decades following the Civil War, convict leasing had become an industrial system of re-enslavement, and James took full advantage, working men in the fields for long hours, often to death.
The scheme began with local magistrates who would snatch free Black men off the streets on spurious charges like vagrancy, which usually was merely failure to provide proof of employment, and quickly lease them off to landowners who usually had prior agreements with local authorities.

Yikes. Strong language.
But yes, I did already draw attention to this.
Historically, the communists are the ones in favor of detaining citizens and infringing on freedoms. Not that we care what words actually mean here…

Fine, stop the farming, and put them on a rock pile!

Isn't that a natural part of the sentencing process?
So many years imprisonment with hard labor or something like that?
I did not know there was a skin color qualification for that.

We're talking about murderers, rapists and mostly other violent offenders.
Angola isn't for speeders, jaywalkers or check kiters.
You don't like the City of Refuge model, you demand prisoners be kept safe from one another but say restricting their movement is cruel.

Maybe I am weird but you infringe upon someone’s life, by murdering them, then you should have your freedom infringed upon and be locked up and forced to do hard labor.

That person only murdered because of lack of programs and the persistence of white privilege. Social workers like cubbies know more about community safety than you do, pal.

Um, ackshually, the communists were pretty fond of opening prison doors to use thug muscle to gain power. Then they went on to imprison innocents deemed threats to their power. You’re welcome, for the education you just received.

Any problems above could be fixed by bringing back the death penalty for all murder and ensuring that is is promptly carried out with minimal appeal.

Yes strong language, wasn’t needed past the first 2nd word. Now please make sense of this part.
But yes, I did already draw attention to this.
Now please explain how the following is relevant for non communist? Of course that does mean other than democrats, the ones who took our liberties during covid. You know the ones who threaten retaliation when they get back in power.
