Do you think the USA winning Gold will drive up overall fan engagement for the sport?

no. still too many low stakes games like the NBA.

scarcity, high stakes and jeopardy is what boosts ratings

a small boost sure but NHL ratings are below the WNBA now.
NBC didnt renew their deal , they have the NBA who is having its best ratings in years

100%. As much as many of us despise constantly expanding playoffs, this is why they do it. And it ain't stopping.

Let him sign up for this streaming site. The Rangers games would cost him $120 for the season, but the Stars games are free to stream. They also have free Anaheim Ducks games and a whole minor league of games nightly.

victoryplus.com

Their app is available on most smart TV's. It was on both my Samsung and Vizio TV's.

funny the ducks are free. we also had the discussion about the movies The Mighty Ducks, we are in a generation where our kids know nothing about those early 90's movies.

I will say this, the overlap of the NHL with college baseball and college softball is a huge issue in trying to spend time watching the sport amongst these others speaking from a family that loves baseball/softball in a southern state

It is and will always be a niche sport.

I think it will. Start with NHL playoffs. A lot better than what the NBA has evolved into.

I really don't know how people watch the NBA now. It does very little for me.

Not significant in the regular season, but maybe in the playoffs. The Stanley Cup Final being on ABC this year instead of TNT will help too.

The NHL dropped NBC for ESPN/TNT. They have way more exposure now with Games on TNT, ESPN, and ABC along with every game on ESPN+.
