We’ve seen this before and another terrorist leader slips back in.

I don’t really care if it’s a dictatorship as long as they’re friendly and don’t fund the proxies in the ME anymore.

The best model for muslim nations is monarchy. That way their government leaders are more worried about how much money is in their bank account, and keeping people in line, than focused on their ideology

They were quite a bit more civilized than the other countries outside of maybe Lebanon.

Iran has strong institutions, at the local level they have some democracy, they have lawyers and civil officers.

Its nothing like Afghanistan.

We will use the Venezuelan model. They sell oil to the countries we want them to sell it to. Terrorists try to rise to power, we stop the oil.

History will treat Trump well.

The Shah has stated he will sign an agreement guaranteeing a constitutional monarchy before he takes power. Can he go against that? Yes but big Daddy DJT won’t like it!

They already have the framework for democracy. The issue was a communist theocracy sitting on top of it. Basically, the people could vote for parliament and elections, but the religious leaders could remove candidates from elections and veto laws. The people couldn’t vote with their wallets because all major industries were controlled by the Iranian Republican Guard Corp. Essentially, all major industries were nationalized by the Mullahs and put under the authority of the Mullahs’ military.

All you really have to do is remove the IRGC and the theocratic institution that sits on top of the parliament, and reopen the economy to free enterprise, and you can transition relatively quickly to a government that is much more democratic and representative of the people than the current one. The issue will be in the transition from state control of economic sectors to private ownership. This transition has the potential to devolve into patronage and crony oligarch cartels functioning more like organized crime or arms of the state vs competing businesses. This sort of sham capitalism is what we see in Russia.

constitutional monarchy

Is there a legit version of that anywhere? Trying to wrap my head around how that will work out.

I hope that it's based on Christian values, as we've proven it's the only way to happily grow a society. Though the foundation keeps getting chipped at.

So mostly monarchs in name only or one that has a thumb on the button owning it all, but "still" let's them think the people have control/say. So how it was before.

It'll be interesting how the Prince will truly handle it. Maybe there is a legit middle between the 2.

They can choose how they want to governed…. Trump doesn’t seem to care and has stated that it’s not our decision on the type but that whomever it is, will play by the rules or we will give the country another chance
