Bad Boy ZT Elite 48" Kohler
Bad Boy ZT Elite 48" Kawasaki
Gravely ZT XL 48" Kawasaki
Hustler Raptor XDX 48"
I'm cutting 1.5 acres. My Gravely 2005 ZTR still runs but is held together with tie wraps. Might be time for a new one. Whatcew got?

If you're getting a Gravely get the HD model, you'll thank me later. This model is $500 off right now.

The Hustler XDX is awesome and reliable as hell. The XDX has a $350 off promo coming soon.

Not sure where you're located so those promo's may not apply where you are? Check with the dealer.

I'm cutting between 1 1/2 and 2 acres, and after researching, I just bought a 54" Bad Boy ZT Avenger with a Kawasaki engine.

This, get a gravely zthd. My advice would be to go 60inch for that size yard. You will thank me later. Unless you have a specific need to move around very tight areas, ztr are like tv’s, always go bigger.

This will be unpopular - but I have a 12 year old Toro that has been bullet proof. It's worth at least looking into their higher end models off my personal exp. I bought mine from a dealer - not home depot models.

Gravely's are really nice.

I just bought a Bad Boy Maverick with the Kohler motor. Some real good info on Kevin Kelley you tube channel on selecting the right engine and transmission on a zero turn. I went with the Kohler primarily due to it having a better air filtration system than the Kawasaki.

It’s hard to beat Bad Boy’s price with what they offer. I couldn’t find anything any cheaper with those features

I was looking at pretty much the same ones late last year. I went with the Gravely ZT XL over the Bad Boy Avenger mostly because the ride was better and the financing was cheaper. The Bad Boy Elite is probably better than the Gravely ZT XL though...it has about the same seat but has somewhat of a front suspension and better hydros. It's the best mower in your list. What are the prices for each?

I have a bad boy MZ I've beat to shite for 7 years still a great machine. They are all good what I would do is buy whatever your favorite local dealer offers a good dealer is the most important part of equipment purchases.

I'll add if your property stays wet to keep in mind that hustlers are pretty heavy machines.

Cub Cadet 42" 22HP Kohler

I mow a residential lot so I went as small as I could and maintain some quality. I have had it 4 yrs and zero issues. Good sturdy frame. I stayed away from John Deere due to propriatary parts as a issue with reviewers and they are not cheap for what you get.

What was crazy though was when I bought it 3 of 4 tires went slow flat. They all had micro holes and thus slow leaks. Slimed them and have not had a flat or even put air in since.

I’ve had the Hustler Raptor with the Kohler Pro for 9 years mowing 1.5 acres and haven’t had a single issue.

I bought this one about a year ago to cut 1 acre. I've liked it so far. Good cut and nice, simple design. The guy I bought it from had both the Kohler and Kawasaki in stock but told me the Kawasakis tend to burn oil. IIRC the Kohler also has 1-2 more HP, although neither of those is probably a huge deal if you're not running it commercially and keep an eye on the dipstick.
