Do y’all think there is a player out there who can take the reins of being our Swiss Army knife?
Bryson Daily, Taylen Green, and Haynes King are the first three that come to mind

I feel like there are more pressing needs than finding the next Taysom Hill

Don't know how you replace a guy that played 18.68% of the offensive stats last year (11th most amongst all RBs/WRs/TEs) and his 4.8 touches per game average

NFL Draft Buzz - Cole Payton
quote:

The path forward for Payton looks a lot like a Taysom Hill-style deployment early in his career, where a creative offensive staff uses him in designed packages, short-yardage situations, and red zone run concepts while he develops as a passer behind a veteran starter. The ceiling is there for more. His deep ball placement, his composure under duress, and his competitive toughness all suggest a guy who could grow into a capable starter if the development plan is right. But that is a big "if," and he needs patience and coaching to get there. He belongs on a roster, and the physical tools alone make him worth the investment as a late-round selection, but the team that drafts him has to commit to a multi-year development timeline and resist the temptation to rush him onto the field before the mechanics and processing are ready.

True but beyond maybe Taylen Green, most players that would fit as Taysom Hill replacements are lower round pick guys.

At that point in the draft, say #170 or #189, finding a potential backup QB who can contribute by addiing another dimension to the offense is a viable choice since you're quite unlikely to find a starter elsewhere.

As much as i like Taysom Hill he was a novelty player, no need to be looking for a Swiss Army Knife.

CKM has shown zero desire so far for a Hill type player. But who knows.

Grab Pavia in the 6th or 7th

It’s a lottery ticket at that point and he’s your emergency QB

Pavia and his douche brothers wouldn't make it out of training camp

Taysoms mentality, effort and drive is what will be hard to replace. The dude was just built different mentally.

Not in the sense that your brain is thinking. But in the sense that Sean Payton always had a Joker player, Saints can use a new Joker threat.

Most teams in nfl history don’t have a “Swiss army knife.”

Despite him being a great option having a Swiss Army knife didn’t exactly bring massive franchise success.

If you find a unique player like Taysom great, if not you’re probably going to be just fine with a competent organization.

Honestly, I think Justin Fields could be an ideal Taysom type replacement if he just gave up trying to be a QB.

Players with Hill’s combination of power, speed and athleticism are few and far between. At least Hill in his prime.

Cole Payton (as you stated) or Haynes King would be the best options for that role.

Daniel Jeremiah actually referenced Haynes King would likely excel in that role.

I definitely think it’s a worthwhile investment of a LATE ROUND pick or a UDFA

Could use, sure...but not need. I think that role is something fans have come accustomed to more than the actual necessity of it.
