Mcshay reported that Dallas has talked about trading up as far as 3rd looking to get Bailey

If that doesn’t happen, I’ve seen plenty of mocks with Bailey available at 8…

Would you trade back to 12 and pick up a 3rd and 4th.

Some players we could take at 12:
Cb Jermond McCoy
Wr Makai Lemon
Wr Jordyn Tyson
OL Spencer Fano
DE Akheem Mesidor
S Dillon Thieneman

If Bailey is there at 8 I doubt the Saints trade back.

I would be all for that unless Caleb Downs was still there at 8. If Downs is there, I think you take the safest player in the draft who will be a defensive leader for your team.
Otherwise, players in 8-12 range are very similar in terms of grades.

Maybe I am wrong but I would think the Saints would get better than that, like a 2 and a 3.

If Bailey is as good as he looks I'll keep "that guy" for the next five years on the cheap. No trade.

PS
I don't believe we are picking again in the top ten for many years.

Cowboys don’t have a 2nd or 4th. They have two 1st, but we’d probably have to trade our 2nd and 3rd to get them both.

Based on their picks, you’re probably looking at pick 8 for pick 12, 92 and a future 2nd or 3rd.

Pick 8: 1400

Pick 12: 1200
Pick 92: 132
Future 2nd: ???

If Bailey, Delane, and Downs are there I would trade down.

I still think it would be hard for Bailey to be there at 8.

Would take Mendoza, Love, Tate, and one of the OT to go top 7. Then Reese, Styles, and either Bain or the other elite OT went top as well.

At 12 if Delane and Downs are gone then you can draft Ioane. Grab the best IL and replace Ruiz mid way through the season.

Two birds with one stone.

I’d go down to 12. I think the cutoff for me is 13 where you can still get a top notch talent. You can probably still get Delane, Downs, Bain, Tate, or Lemon at 13. I’d want a min of #92 and their 2nd next year.

That’s equal to two 3rds in today’s value.

Bailey is a take at 8. Dallas would have to jump us to get him because of our need at edge.

If Dallas is super desperate maybe, but from the value chart 8 is worth 406 and 12 is worth 347, so the difference is a mid third (78 is worth 59).

So a 3rd and a 4th is far more likely than picking up a 2nd at all, so I think the Saints would rather stay and take a player at 8.

The difference between 8 and 12 is only 1 mid 3rd.

See how desperate they are for him and tell them we'll take 12 and next year's 1st. IF the answer is no, we're hanging up and drafting him.

Yeah I'm definitely not saying don't try to get more, but given the value difference in what people here are asking for vs what range we are likely to get, it's not worth making the trade.

They would have to do something stupid like that for it to be worth it over not taking him ourself.

I agree. I'd rather Bailey than 12 and an extra 3rd, but if Dallas really wants him and we can pick up another 1st next year, I'm making that trade.

I'd be fine trading down and taking Ioane or Mauigoa. Best way to invest in Shough is to get him the best offensive line in the entire league.

You can take a WR/DB in the 2nd or 3rd.

That may be, I’m telling you what it would take for me to move down.

Teams over pay a lot to move into the top ten. 92 isn’t a mid third. So it’ll take 92 and a second next year.
