The Australian government just arrested our most decorated veteran from the Afghanistan War for alleged war crimes.

Ben Roberts-Smith was awarded the Victoria Cross for Australia after singlehandedly storming two Taliban machine gun positions by himself in order to save his own SAS team.

And this is how we repay him.

I spoke to an Australian Afghan war veteran who told me that the Australian government literally paid for billboards in Afghanistan offering to pay random Afghans to come forward with war crime allegations. What country on Earth would do this to itself?

Tell me: When does the Taliban plan on holding war crimes tribunals into their own people? When do the Taliban plan on holding themselves accountable for terrorism?

Absolutely retarded to purge your own men when fighting a brutal barbaric enemy that respects no rules whatsoever.

We are a cucked nation.

Free Ben Roberts-Smith.

What a pathetic ally Australia has become

What they did during Covid was a real eye opener for me

Former Australian Defence Force member Ben Roberts-Smith has been arrested over alleged war crimes. Australian Federal Police (AFP) Commissioner Krissy Barrett said Roberts-Smith was expected to be charged with five counts of war crime - murder. It’s alleged he was involved in the death of Afghan nationals between 2009 and 2012 in “circumstances that constitute war crimes under the Commonwealth criminal code” Barrett said. "It will be alleged the victims were not taking part in hostilities at the time of their alleged murder in Afghanistan,” she said. #Crime #WarCrime

Literally one day after the US risks 100 men and $300m to save 1 guy, Australia throws our guy under the bus - arresting our most decorated Afghan War veteran for alleged war crimes.

What a national disgrace.

Self-hating political and military leadership who basically want to abolish Australia from existence.

Here's the Wiki on him...

I'm still reading it, but it sounds like he was targeted/hunted... anywho, whatever the case, "war crimes" is such a fricked up idea. ALL is fair in love and war. Period.

The current Australian government is taking there country down with their energy policies. That country runs on diesel and they are running out fast. This arrest is a "look squirrel "moment to distract from their coming depression.

Feminist Marxism is a suicidal cult. We need to call our own ugly white women or they will usher it in here.

We're so paranoid about "war crimes" that we send our guys into wars against absolute animals, and we neuter our guys. Sad and terrible

Once a population allows a terrorist organization to take control of their country or a specific area of a country then it becomes impossible to fight and root out the terrorists without killing a large number of civilians. These terrorists build infrastructure under civilian targets like hospitals, shoot rockets and weapons from civilian neighborhoods, use human shields, and mix in with the local population wearing no distinguishable clothing to separate themselves from civilians. With terrorists guilty of doing these things then killing a lot of civilians can’t be helped.

It’s way past time that the world takes another look at what constitutes a war crime and update the laws based on modern day tactics by the bad guys and put the blame for civilian death where it belongs on the terrorist. These civilians that live in places like Lebanon, Gaza, Afghanistan, etc, etc, also need to know they share some responsibility for their own lives too. If you let terrorists come into your country or town and take over and they start killing people from somewhere else that has a modern military then it’s their responsibility to stand up to them and remove them.

I posit there is no such thing.

War is... war. You go all out or you retreat and die in shame.

So just to be clear...you're ok with Nazis lining up American POWs and machine gunning them.

I posit that you're a fricking idiot.

Of course not, I'm American.

I'd be fine with machine gunning some nazis, though.

Yeah, well, that's your opinion... much like your a-hole, in that they both are of no concern to me. And, they stink.

I’m just mainly talking about that an Army shouldn’t just roll into a place and machine gun a whole town because they feel like it. There shouldn’t be anything take place like the concentration camps of WW2. Bombing a hospital because terrorists have built a command and control asset under it is extremely sad but it shouldn’t be a war crime. A school being accidentally targeted because it use to be a military building is awful but it shouldn’t be a war crime. The blame for those deaths should be on the terrorists.

I mostly agree with what you've said... My feelings on the issue is that it's better to not have hard and fast rules on "war crimes". As in your example, even hospitals and schools can be sanctuary to the enemy.

Warfare isn't always people easily recognizable in obvious uniforms.

The man that is the subject of this post didn't stride into a town and machine gun the whole of it.

Western man tends to view the young, the old, the feminine and the religious as above suspicion... that's just not true in all aspects of combat. Mistakes will happen in the fog of war, we should not punish those we send out to fight our wars.

Yeah fighting terrorism is a messy business. Terrorist care absolutely nothing about human life. These people have lost all humanity. They are more closely related to animals that have went mad than a human being. We can’t kill enough of them as far as I’m concerned. It’s a total shame that so many civilians have to die in the process but those people have to share in the responsibility of keeping themselves alive though. Don’t let terrorists take control of your country and then launch attacks on other countries. Don’t let terrorists build tunnels and other structures under a hospital. Don’t let terrorists shoot rockets from schools or residential neighborhoods and then these people will not need to worry about being bombed. It’s pretty simple.

Some basic rules in warfare is ok but what is happening to the guy in this story is a crime itself.
