A former university professor who authored books for Christians about the ethics of marriage and sexuality has been arrested for raping a child, Us Weekly has learned.

John Kent Tarwater was once a finance professor at Cedarville University, a Baptist school in Ohio.

Tarwater, 55, is facing eight sex-based felonies stemming from allegations made by the minor victim.

Pedos love to be in positions where there is inherent trust in who they are. But watch as no Christian try’s to defend him, make excuses for his actions, or declare that anyone who dares to mention this is part of some vast conspiracy theory.

Anyone who tries to defend him is NOT a Christian.

No question about it.

I wonder if the government will try to silence and harass people for talking about this like they do with Muslim rape gangs?

Yes, but apparently we has practitioners of “sharia (sp) law” that are marrying little girls in this country and no one is prosecuted

Hate reading about abuse of a child in general, but it's an extra sting when it's a Christian affiliated person that commits the crime.

In fairness, I think he should be beaten into a coma, and that’s not Christ like either.

Why? Abusing kids should be abhorrent period. We all knew about the Catholic church long before the Muslim rape gangs all over the UK. One stings less than the other?

I'm not Catholic, but it stings more because our (collective Christianity) teachings actually say that it's a bad thing to abuse children.

That’s disgusting, and yet more reason for people to get their eyes off of the humans with the sin problems and onto the sinless savior who died to remedy man’s sin problem.

I don’t know how many times we need to be reminded of this. The more religious they are, the more I am wary of them. Not faith, but religious, and the difference is astounding. The more legalistic and law keeping they are the more I have my antennae up.

Clearly it's almost impossible for pedos. But for the majority of sane individuals, the thought never crosses out minds.

Because, an argument you commonly run up against Christianity is that the humans that are preaching Christianity are often times the most corrupt and why would a non believer want to follow someone who themselves doesn't practice. They miss the point that the Bible specifies that Jesus was the last and only perfect living person on the earth.

It is abhorrent whenever a child is abused without question, but when the abuser is a Christian, it not only harms the child, but also harms the Christian faith.

ETA: I'm not Catholic, but the Catholic faith IMO puts an emphasis on the priests and parishioners, that as a non Catholic Christian I cannot understand, and when those leaders commit abuse, it is more harmful for their believers even.

There is no argument to be made that abusing a child is horrid. I rarely argue anything in life around fairness, but the one thing I will argue fairness on is when bad things happen to innocent children.
