For all you wondering why Braun was a top rated 1B coming out of high school

Even though he didn’t play one B in high school.
Bottom line, you play enough PG tournaments, they’re gonna find a place to rank you.
Don’t pay them any money and you don’t get shite.
Play their tournaments, you’re a top high school stud, regardless.

Have a family friend who’s kid is very highly ranked and I told my wife the same exact thing. He might be very good and pan out but they will absolutely rank kids playing in their system over anyone else.

My op was not the slightest bit about Brauns play, he’s been great.
I was just commenting the ridiculous PG ratings when we were discussing should he play 1B. Guys weren’t sure if he played first before and he said he was OF mainly but PG lists him as 1B.

He was recruited for his bat. Colleges don't really recruit 1B. It's a position of last resort.
Also, Jay Johnson said he was the best high school bat that he saw in last year's class. Pretty strong stamp of approval regardless of PG's ranking.
