Just drop a few MOABs on the Iranian coastline of the Strait of Hormuz

The remaining goat frickers hiding in the hills with short range missile launchers will vanish like a fart in the wind.

I think you massively (a) understate the size and terrain of the geography in play and (b) overstate the power and scope of large conventional weapons.

I think some drones can go a long, long way.
Additionally, after you drop the Moab, they can come right back in afterWard and launch drones from where you dropped the bombs.

If only it were that easy. Iran can harass shipping from a long distance with drones and such. We should tell them that they need to behave or else they’re done exporting oil. We could cut that off with the quickness.

I'm still very impressed that Iran has the capability to still be lobbing missiles after 1+ months.
UAE: hit
Kuwait: hit
Saudi: hit
US intelligence must be not as good as purported; particularly with the range of the missiles ie Diego Garcia

Yeah - you’d almost have to seize the entire coast around the strait and set up a buffer zone.
Then defend it in perpetuity.
Not realistic for us militarily.

SRBMs have a range of 300KM-1,000 KM. That's like New Orleans to Savannah.
Iran is basically the size of Alaska, with the same population of California, Texas, and Florida combined. It's going to take a hell of a lot more than some MOABs along the coastline to open up the SoH.

Ya know, bringing up MOABs makes me wonder if a number of them could destroy Iran’s “missile city” outside of Tehran which is reportedly 400-500 meters deep.
If the ceasefire continues to deteriorate then they might as well try, with the remaining 23 MOABs being marked for decommissioning anyway.
