I have a 14 year old 22 foot Sun Tracker and it has been a good boat but I am thinking about getting a new boat. Veranda pontoon boats look nicer and fancier than Sun Tracker and they are not "Bass Pro boats." However, they also cost a lot more money. FWIW right now it will mostly be my dogs, my girlfriend, and myself who will be using it and occasionally some friends. Is a Veranda worth the extra money?

It depends on how much you plan to use it and how well it can be protected from the elements.

I have a covered boat slip and will keep a cover on it. Exposure to the elements is not a problem.

I don’t know the price difference between the Veranda & Ranger, but the Ranger pontoons are nice as well.

I already have a bass boat. I do not need a fishing pontoon boat. However thank you for the input.

I think the Veranda will be money well spent by you then.

That sounds like an awful lot of money to end up with the same function, but nicer.

But I am cheap and it’s not my money, the verandas do look nice if you don’t have anything better to do with the money.

Find a nice used one. Don't be afraid to shop out of state either. Picked up a 2017 Southbay in 2019 with 20 hours that was about $20k less than what the original owner paid. Had it shipped down from Minnesota. You can probably find a decent deal on a used Bennington/Harris/Veranda

Tritoons are worth it over a pontoon for the extra stability, comfort, and ability to power more than a 150.

I went with the Veranda. Bought it about 30 minutes ago.

I kept it simple and went with the basic Vista 22RC. I do not see the need in spending $100,000 or more on pontoon boat.

Man exactly what I was thinking. If you really want to spend some coin, repower your existing boat. But otherwise you'll have basically the same thing and be much poorer.

IF the motor is in good shape, Maybe redo the floor, seats etc, buff the pontoons.
