Perfect! We’re a nation of laws just like every other country in the world.

Is Newsweek trying to make this sound like a bad thing?

So you’re going back to Bangladesh, for the humane conditions?

You're correct speaking in general terms. But we also know that 99% of our international students are top 1% wealth status in their home countries if not the world in general. So she is probably going back to living like a princess.

Well, she is the he. And it appears that he flew 8,000 miles for a taste of the real world. Mommy & Daddy need to drop his arse in a rice paddy for about a year.

quote:

Chowdhury raised particular concerns about medical care, alleging delays in seeing health care staff and a lack of consistent treatment for his ADHD, anxiety and depression. "There were moments where the anxiety and emotional stress felt overwhelming, and there was no real help available," he said.

But you’re right about the 1% part, I’m pretty sure that it doesn’t come close to hitting 1% of Bangladeshi’s diagnosed with ADHD, anxiety, and depression they just call that Tuesday.

Proper care for his adhd.....another one of those spectrum diagnosis so you can get social benes.

This is obviously for the lawyers, what frickin jail is supposed to have doctors to deal with your made up mental illnesses.

Check his statement. Note everything is descriptive, void of any factual information :
quote:

He said he was housed in jail environments alongside individuals accused or convicted of serious crimes, which he found "terrifying and deeply unsettling." He alleged inconsistent access to drinking water, saying detainees sometimes had to wait extended periods for necessities. He also described food as repetitive and lacking nutritional value and said overcrowded, noisy conditions made it difficult to sleep, with lights often left on and little sense of privacy.
What exactly is 'inconsistent' access to water? What was the longest he went w/o water? In hours, days (I doubt it) - give us something meaningful.

Same: "extended periods", "repetitive" (hey, I have toast for breakfast almost every day - is that 'inhumane'? 'over crowded' - how many people in how many square feet? Lights 'often' left on (as a Father, I've often yelled at my kids for 'often' leaving the lights on - call DCFS!!!).

Guy's a whiner, he has to go back!

Reminds me of recess at school. Water break was 123 go, 123 go, 123 go. Those teachers damn near killed us.

So the dude broke multiple laws while here AND let his student visa lapse?

Newsweek can drudge up some sympathetic case, but this guy ain't it.

Canada lectures us about things like this.

Canada also won't even let you cross their borders if you have a felony.

Canada doesn't like that to be brought up.

Yep. The fact that they use *this* as an example just demonstrates what a 'non-problem' this is.

It's like the Smollet-style things - racism is so bad, we have to fake racism to bring attention to it.

Going to jail sucks. That's why some folks only need to go once, and they clean their act up.
