Fact is LSU basketball has suffered since NIL.

No shite. Having an empty suit leading the program the whole time will do that.

Will wade can take the current roster and make the tournament. Now imagine what he does with a little talent.

I’ve yet to see a bottom from you guys. It’s quite impressive how you continue to find new intellectual lows almost daily.

Bruh I’d be happy with just consistently being a top half SEC team and making the tourney more years than not.

There are only a limited number of schools that will pay in the highest level for hoops. Plenty of excellent and potential to be excellent players that go elsewhere.

Please stop responding to this dipshit. He’s one of the leading WWDS patients. He’s constantly posting negative things about Wade and the basketball program.

Even with competitive NIL/rev-share resources, it's gonna be hard to convince a bluechip(s) to come to a wasteland/massive rebuild for one year, if they have NBA aspirations. Most likely, they'd prefer playing on a contender with the same open position/playing-time-opportunity that LSU is offering.

The very best LSU can do right now is fill the roster with UDFA G-league/NBA-type prospects and/or international propects, and/or non-NBA-level experienced juniors/seniors that want more playing time and/or more money. Hopefully, with good coaching/development, they can over-achieve and become a contender attractive enough for bluechips in the following seasons.

RANT: The one-&-done has ruined MBB. Stars don't stick around, so the nation barely gets to know them and it creates less drama/intrigue for primetime matchups. And the next year, you have to start from scratch all over again. It's one of the reasons why wbb routinely gets more eyeballs than mbb. WBB keeps their stars for 4 years which creates storylines, rivalries, drama, and intrigue.

The portal has been infinitely worse for continuity.

And there it is: proof positive that we have posters masquerading as LSU fans who are really McMahon fans first.

First of all, the last I checked McMahon hasn’t gotten a new job. To be fair, he may not be super active in the job search at the moment. Getting your butt kicked repeatedly with no answers on how to solve it has to be draining. If he’s been active however, then it shows what the coaching profession thinks of him at the moment.

He will most likely not get a P4 head job again. If he did, he’d have to work back up through the mid majors. No guarantee that he’d be successful at the mid major ranks though because even though programs have adapted to the current landscape and we all know that McMahon had no clue to navigate current college basketball.

Wade will 100% make the tournament before that fraud does at any level.

And yet, McNeese makes the tournament?

Yeah, dumb take

Maybe it's chaos for football, but for basketball, the stats disagree. NIL has actually help retain more players in college. Early entrants to the NBA dropped by 49% last year. Fringe 1st & 2nd rounders are opting to take another year of development while still making NIL. Schools are now matching rookie NBA salaries.

Still, the continuity, star power & storylines have suffered more because of the one & done rule (2006) than NIL (2021). Ben Simmons, Tyrus Thomas, Cam Thomas, Tari Eason, Naz Reid all left after one year at LSU, leaving the following season's team less watchable, not only for LSU fans, but curious national/regional audiences.
