Anyone else surprised Rick Perry of all people is pushing psychedelics?

I may be remembering wrong, always thought of him as a neocon RINO. Now he is running around on Joe Rogan and has been pushing psychedelics for a while now. He is one of the ones who got Hubbard a platform, and essentially went on Rogan, who called Trump, to sign the executive order the other day regarding psychedelics. Had no idea he had been pushing this fight lately.

I had no idea. I used to keep up with this much more. Granted it was over 10 years ago, I pushed with the Louisiana state congressmen. I knew about it and tried to get the Louisiana Firefighter Union on board with it. Was looked down upon back then, though. I haven't kept up with it much the last 1-1.5 years.

Dont know much about him but what does being a neocon rhino have to do with being for or against them?

Valid question, guess if someone like Jeb Bush or Mitt Romney was suddenly pushing psychedelics, I'd be a little surprised, like I am with Rick Perry.

John Boehner left congress and started lobbying for big marijuana. It’s not uncommon for a politician to take a company’s money and say whatever they’re told.

Didn’t he used to be an A&M milkman?

It was as simple as he met with some vets in Texas, including Marcus Latrell and his brother and other war heroes and suffering soldiers, and they told him how helpful it was, and he's made it his mission .
He's told his story often
check on Rogan's interview, the whole story is there, but he's been at it long before Rogan had him on

No. Dude will push whatever pays the most. He was on the gambling push, but looks like TX is budging on that soon.

I honestly didn't know Joe Rogan was a big psychedelics guy.

This is just rumor, but I heard his son in law suffered from acute PTSD after military service and traveled to Peru for this kind of treatment and it worked.
I’d imagine witnessing something like that would change most men’s minds.

Does Big Ibogaine pay a lot?

He is still a neocon rino. Who knows, maybe he feels guilty about it. He’s always had a big interest in our soldiers. It’s a damn good thing he’s doing. Our guys deserve better than what they’ve gotten.

Just follow the money and or if they helped with his life. Some people learn to live with the pain instead of dealing with addiction to pharmaceuticals or reach out to other means.

Yes, and Latrell actually lived with Perry and his wife when he was trying to recover, long before the book and movie success. I think this is much more personal than "some lobbying money" as some are implying.

You must have been shrooming out.
He was the only candidate in the 2012 who understood the significance that hydraulic fracturing was going to make especially in chemicals manufacturing. Bachman was all about building new refineries and permitting the scam refinery which never applied for anything in ND. Newtron wouldn't have run without the 100% backing of Big Ethanol.

If you saw his presidential debate performance during the republican primary it was obvious that he was on something.

He’s enjoying retirement
