Evidently OT Francis Mauigoa has a back (herniated disc)

The herniated disc is asymptomatic for now but the issue is there. This could affect the Saints since a lot of mocks have him being slected before we pick

“Miami offensive tackle Francis Mauigoa is still expected to be the first offensive lineman selected Thursday night despite the fact that sources say he has a herniated disc in his back,” Schefter wrote. “Mauigoa returned to Indianapolis for a medical recheck two weeks before the draft.
“The back injury is not a significant issue now, and it is asymptomatic, but teams say that if it worsens at all, Mauigoa would then need surgery that could sideline him roughly three months. Some teams think he’ll eventually need the surgery at some point either way. One front office executive said last week that if the injury flares up in training camp and requires surgery, it might potentially end Mauigoa’s rookie season.”
That naturally introduces some skepticism for teams picking early in the first round, considering he’s expected to be the first offensive lineman drafted.

Is it just me or these too prospects this year seemingly has a frick ton of negative reports on them

Too bad Miami is too big of a school, and Mauigoa is too much of a known to be consider a project player or he'd be a Mickey special. Especially if he could play guard

Does seem that way, but at the same time could it be a combination of us paying more attention with a top 10 pick; excitement of prospects for upcoming season due to Shough, Moore, and no DA; and the increasing amount of information hitting social media

Definitely more than usual but its hard to tell which teams are leaking for their benefit and which teams actually have concerns. No way teams are finding out about this 2 days before the draft so I'm viewing it as leverage leaks.

A herniated disc is an actual concern. Same thing for Mccoy’s screwed up knee
Tyson’s hamstrings are less serious and I think he goes top 10

Not saying it isn't. Just saying that the 1st rd of teams already marked him off their draft sheet. If he already fell this could easily be the next rd of teams hoping he drops more.

Almost certainly a huge percentage of OL and DL have protruding/herniated discs. Going through that many collisions leads to that sort of thing.
Treatment and procedures for it have advanced quite a lot.

I think you're right. The "drill down" on the top 15 players or so is unusual for us. I hope it never happens again lol

definitely not the best draft class this year
next year should be significantly better

Oh I know, I had to have a fusion after breaking one of my vertebrae. I was back to regular working out and lifting heavy after about 8 months
it shouldn’t hinder him all that much long term, but if he needs some sort of fusion after training camp he’ll be out for the season
Will probably make him fall out of the top 10 I’d think
