I work for a small company, and they decided to end workplace provided insurance. Any good companies to find this instead of Healthcare.gov and the rabbit hole that it is.

Bumped.
Private insurance here in New Orleans is around $600 / month for a family of five.
There must be better deals out there.

While listening to Dave Ramsey, they mentioned Health Trust Financial. My wife is about to retire and so we're going to have to get our own policy soon, so I figured I would give a third party a try. I have not reached out to them yet, but they may recommend Health Share plans or direct primary care options. If it were just me I would consider them, but my spouse does not like that approach. The last time I priced insurance through Healthcare.gov they quoted me $1700/month for the cheapest policy with no vision or dental. Medical insurance sucks.

with this rate, sounds like you may have a high-deductible plan too.

my wife is shutting it down at the hospital and will come home to work for me and be with my youngest daughter til she is off to college so i have to run insurance through my company now. Last quote i got was around 800 a month. That is basically what we were paying through my wife's plan. Cannot recall provider.
and hey benji can you post your provider? I would like to get a quote from them

Dems always name things the opposite of what they are going to do.
Affordable Care Act
Inflation Reduction Act
It is their way of trolling people with any common sense and of controlling the useless idiots who can't think for themselves.

That’s a great rate but the insurance is probably dogshit

This sounds cheap as hell. I would love that. My family insurance through my company is $1100 per month and that’s with mine being covered 100% by the company.

Good luck
You will probably be better off taking something with a high deductible(10K or so) and self insuring up to a certain level.
We have a large group plan with a 5K, but it pays for Rx and ER visits (which is about all we use).
$1,800.00 a month but my company pays 2/3'rds

Went to Healthcare.gov.
Individual plan at age 45, single and no children.
Best plan as it only had a 1,500 deducible for health and 500 for drugs. Then 80/20 plus 40 Dr Visits, 60 specialists. Out of pocket max was something like 9k.
809 a month.
Still looking at other options.

They don't offer $0 deductible plans? Been over a decade since I was not on an employer sponsored plan, but I loved my $0 deductible plan

You'll be very hard pressed to find any employer offering $0 deductible plans these days, unless they want to charge you a good lot in premiums.
Back in 2013 I had a $0 deductible plan paid for by company in full
Today my free plan is a $4000 deductible plan; it also cost the company way more for that than the $0 plan did way back then
Healthcare costs have just gotten insane

This was by design from the beginning. They want you to beg them for Socialized Medicine.

We’ve got blue cross blue shield of Louisiana.
56 male
56 female
25 year old that we just never dropped (has a great policy through employer — we’re just dumb)
Anyway. Male and female each take like 2 prescriptions .. our premium for a $5600 ded is like 1400 per month.
In.
Sane.
Edit to say it’s a grandfathered in policy so we (so we’re told) don’t fall under Obamacare but if we make any changes (other than dropping our kid) we become subject to Obamacare rules and I’m assuming premiums. I’m too afraid to change anything to find out.
I will say .. we’ve met our ded over the years maybe three or four times and we’ve never had any issues with them covering after that or after our total oop was met.
Does not incident dental/vision.

Regardless of merit, it gives the defense bar more work to do and makes the work more tedious. Cases are now being over litigated.
The reason why I showed that plan was that it mostly mirrored my current insurance.
They do have plans that are less, but now I having to pay out of pocket for insurance.
There are plans that are less. There is a bronze plan for 538 a month. I maybe eligible for a tax credit of 330 a month making 208 a month. It has a 9900 a year deductible before it pays out a penny. Then it is 90/10 up to the out of pocket maximum of 10,900. Unfortunately that doesn’t sound like insurance, it sounds like a robbery if something catastrophic occurs or if I need something minor as I have to pay out of pocket for everything. I could go lower deductibles but the share percentage drops to as low as 50/50. Also, all doctor visits are at cost till deductibles are met.
There is another plan at 50/50 cost share a 7,500 deductible and a 50 dollar copays and 100 dollar specialists. That one is 596 a month and I may be eligible for a credit of 330 a month making it cost 264 a month. Generic Drugs are 25 dollars.
I do take metformin, Atorvastatin, and Lisinopril which are generics. Which some can be transferred to Sam’s for either free or cost way less than 25 dollars with the PBM scam.
I am just worried if I get the Ozempic sticks again and have to get a high cost for that.

That's a pretty good rate, actually. I'm assuming high deductibles and/or co-insurance?

To update everyone, I am leaning towards a Bronze plan from HMO Louisiana, a LA Blue Cross Company with Copays and 50/50 split and a 7,500 deductible. Out of Pocket Max is 10k. Cost to me would be about 264 a month.
Not liking the deductible, but I could pair it with a high dedicutible supplemental policy for 15 dollars a month, but that is only for accidents or injuries. They do have a critical care or stoke policy too, but they did not send me pricing on that.
I could also start an HSA to help with the extra costs of this policy. I am also looking to move some prescriptions to Sams as my blood pressure and cholesterol meds are covered by Sam's Club's free tier with my Plus Membership.
One other thing, I have a coworker that is looking to go with US Health Group which labeled as a United Health Care Company, but it is providing them a Fixed Indemnity Plan which provides benefits for covered medical services but is not a traditional major medical plan. Basically, if your condition hit X, Y, and Z we give you a benefit as long as it is run through United Health Care's network, and you pay the balance. It sounds very scammy, and if something happens in the wrong set of circumstances, you can get screwed. It is benefits are underwritten by a life insurance company.

If ours was $600 for a family of 4, I would be doing cartwheels. Ours is over double that- please let me know where I can find rates like that.
