He's screwed, the Raiders are awful. The starting WRs are 2 rookies, DHB and Louis Murphy.

A horrible way to end your pro career, but really not that bad of a way to start it. You're the fan favorite and the team is focused on developing around you, and there's less pressure if you lose because people understand the talent level of your supporting cast.

While I agree that the Raiders are awful, Jamarcus Russell certainly doesn't appear to have improved much. I always thought he held onto the ball too long, because his decision making process wasn't developed properly. That still appears to be the case every time I've watched him play in the NFL.
He consistently fails to identify blitzes, and instead of throwing the ball quickly when it's obvious pressure is coming, he holds the ball and goes down. He also moves into pressure a lot of times, which forces many awkward passes. A change of scenery would probably help, but I'm still not sure I see Russell as a quality NFL starter.
