This sucks. I thought she was funny. I really liked the Angie Tempura skits. Plus, she was kind of hot.

Well, that sucks. She was well on her way to becoming the main woman on the show after Kristen Wiig leaves.

And although she was only a bit player, I really liked Casey Wilson too.

Man, the movie board has really been dead lately.

Can't believe the post has been up this long without the obligatory.....

Is that even still on?

I'm surprised they let Casey Wilson go. Actually, I'm surprised at anyone who is let go before Kenan.

Casey Wilson was pretty good in my opinion. She made me laugh a hell of a lot more than Kenan and Bobby Moynihan.

I didn't find Michaela Watkins funny at all, and Angie Tempura was probably my least favorite actor on SNL besides Kenan's french hip-hop comedian, Jean K. Jean.

Is it bad that the only person in this topic I have heard of is Keenan?

Keenan makes Brian Fellows seem like pure genius.

I haven't watch SNL since ferrel left, even though it sucked then too.

Wow, SNL is as bad now as it was in the 80s

I stopped watching in the early 90s.

Because I have seen pretty much every episode of SNL from the Chase/Belushi year to the Ferrell/Fay years. I can say that 75, 76 and the early 90s were the best seasons.

Steve Martin was the best host ever! (Walken is hilarious as well, though)

It is funny because the worst cast member in 1976 was Bill Murray...and look at what he did since.

Just because I am young doesn't mean I didn't watch a lot of television classics. While the subtle politcal and social references are lost on me, the pure comedy of Dan, Chevy, and John were amazing.

Edit: The 80's weren't all bad, The early 80's only had 1 star-Murphy. The late 80s were pretty good with Hartman and Carveys debates and Mike Myers and John Lovitz though.

I think if I made you watch 3 hours of the old SNL glory years, you would gnaw off your tongue just to choke yourself to death. Not a greatest hits show, but an actual normal SNL during the Belushi years.

SNL has ALWAYS been hit and miss comedy with probably more misses than hits. From DAY 1.

1975, yes. The first season was pretty terrible, but had a lot of the best skits which is why it is still a great season. 1976, the cast really gelled even without Chase and I felt every episode was had some good skits and not nearly as many bad skits like 75.

But my point is you haven't watched it for almost 7 years! For all you know, it could be the best show in the entire world now!

LOL...true.

I haven't given the new cast a shot.

Keenan was pretty funny on All That...

FWIW it's not (the best show), I just had to argue the point.

It does have it's moments - all the digital shorts and songs they do now are usually funny or at least interesting. The other stuff is a lot like it was in the old days - some good sketches but a lot of misses too.

If I had DVR at my house, I would probably watch it again. Some stuff I need to skip.

I think Bill Hader is one of the better cast members in the show's history. Unfortunately, there isn't a lot of supporting talent besides Wiig and (especially now that Amy Poehler is gone and Darrell Hammond is only around for one skit each show).

Andy Samberg is pretty bad with sketches, but his digital shorts are usually very good.

Damn, he is still on the show?

His Clinton and Gore impressions were spot on, IMO. I figured he left years ago.

I don't know WTF Lorne Michaels is thinking. Watkins should've been in line to fill the void left by Wiig (who is sure to leave for a movie career in a year or two).

It's a shame that they're going to the attractive/boring comediennes route after the recent run of powerhouse female talent that the show enjoyed.

Watkins was awesome on The Adventures of Old Christine. She could easily carry her own sitcom.
