Does anyone know if their broadcast could be heard in the Pigeon Forge, TN area? I know that their signal is pretty strong, but I'm not familiar with where you can get reception.

Probably not that far away. Just a guess.

Probably yes.

I've caught it at night from South Bend, IN (in 1998 after LSU-ND game) and I believe I caught it one night in New Mexico or Arizona also.

True. The signal travels better at night.

The issue with 870's signal is this. 870 stays at 50 thousnad watts 24/7. Other stations reduce their signal strength at night allowing the signal of 870 to come in. first game is at 4 in the afternoon CST. usually signals drop after 9 pm. so unless LSU gets the later game in the future listening in other areas could be difficult.

I get it at night in the Louisville, Kentucky area with no problems - however NIGHT is the key - you won't get it if the sun is out.

Never miss a beat on the signal in Destin or Fort Walton...usually at the beach during regional play and Hawthorne's incompetence is there for all to hear in the panhandle.

yes, at night

I lived in Knoxville area for 5 yrs and got a clear signal on 870 after dark. Bad thing about the summer is it's almost 10 o'clock eastern time before it's dark enough for the signal to come in clear

Unless something has changed, LSU won't allow its affiliates to stream sports events because it wants to sell GeauxZone subscriptions.

sometimes you can still catch an affiliate that leaves it up online. I've posted a link for a station out of jackson that does it often.

I am on the northwest side of Houston and I get it at night. Cloudy nights seem to be better too. Keeps the signal close to the ground so I have heard.

I've picked it up in Alberta Canada at night. Usually about 30 minutes before sundown you can start picking it up faintly and as it gets darker, it gets stronger.

I don't know if they carry LSU baseball but KWKH in S'port can also be heard after dark. They used to carry LSU fb and basketball. I think that's 1130 AM.

The Shreveport station is also a clear watt station pumping 50,000 watts. But for whatever reason, I can pick up 870 better here in Alexandria. I wish the LSU network would include one Shortwave station again like they used to at one time.
